I haven't posted here for a while and the truth is that I didn't have any topic in mind that was worthwhile, until one day without prior notice someone asked me the question: Can Babies Dream? and I thought it was a good topic to raise it here in the community.

  I am not an expert on the subject, I am not a pediatrician or a mother or anything related to babies. I'm just someone ordinary who puts his ideas forward in a personal blog. So I just want to start by saying that these lines below are merely my opinion on this topic.

  Of course, before putting together my post I had to do a little digging to confirm or disprove my suspicions on the matter and I have to tell you that personally: I do believe that babies have dreams when they sleep and more so when they do so in such a deep sleep. There are several reasons for this.

  Well, the first and foremost reason is the learning acquired during their day-to-day life. As a baby shares with its parents and relatives, little by little it learns things, even if it does not know how to speak If the baby is completely healthy and has its 5 senses, it can hear, see, smell, taste, and feel.

  For this reason, I deduce that babies dream about what they experience during their day, so they build memories in their subconscious and learn little by little something new. The human body is amazing and I imagine it as a machine, in this case, more like a computer (the brain) that when it goes into sleep mode stores all the important files and deletes what is not useful.

  But if the baby is a newborn can it still dream? **I am almost sure it does. But if it does, what is it going to dream about if it doesn't know anything yet, maybe it doesn't know anything about the world because it hasn't opened its eyes or because it is experiencing its first day, it has no other image than that of its mother's womb, so I think the baby dreams about that experience and that of the delivery or cesarean section, depending on the case.

  I guess that's why they make such funny gestures when they are newborns. You know what kind of faces I'm talking about, don't you? All those faces that we adults can't help but see because each one is special and tender and adorable and just makes you want to kiss them for being so beautiful just for existing.

  And what about babies still in the mother's womb, do they also dream? **Of course! How can they not dream, if while in the mother's womb, one can hear, feel, and even "taste" certain foods that the mother eats when she eats, and if the baby has its eyes open during pregnancy, it also sees lights and glows in its mother's womb, as shown in some baby movies or documentaries.

  In this case, I can even certify it, since I have memories of when I was in my mother's womb. But how do I know that? Believe me, it was not easy to remember. I experienced this thanks to a cognitive therapy I had years ago with a therapist expert in Neurolinguistic Programming and at that time I needed a mental readjustment (so to speak).

  She didn't do anything extraordinary, she didn't change me or wave her magic wand to help me, she simply shared her knowledge with me and gave me therapy to help me "cut the umbilical cord with my mother" (Yes, I was very dependent on her) and the truth is that I was going through a very bad personal moment and she was the one who helped me through a Mexican therapy in which the patient had to be "born again".

  Yes, it sounds crazy, but in my case, it worked. I experienced childbirth as an adult hahaha (I was laughing and giggling in the process) until it got serious and I completely let myself get carried away with the whole thing. She explained to me that she usually uses that therapy and does that work for individuals who have birth issues, i.e. they lost their mother, were abandoned, rejected, or something traumatic as such.

  She wasn't sure it would work for me, but from what I told her about my birth and the problems I had, maybe it would work and it did. For me, she made me an * Awakening of Consciousness*, and to this day I am completely grateful to her. I was born with respiratory problems, heart problems, and other conditions. I was born prematurely, I am 7 Mesina, and I looked very bad because my mother fell in the bathroom and hit her belly with the toilet. The amniotic fluid solidified and they had to do an emergency cesarean section and that's how I was born.

  The point of this is that after that therapy, I relived and remembered many moments of my life, many situations, words, screams, fights, joys, sad days, and so many emotions going through my mind every day. Those days were horrible and one of the memories I had was when my mom fell and hit my head while I was in her belly. I remember the light reflecting through her skin like a membrane.

  And well, to finish this post I just want to repeat and confirm that from my point of view babies are capable of dreaming. What do they dream about? Well, their daily experiences, even when they are in their mother's womb. That is why they must develop in a calm, quiet, and relaxing environment.

  I understand that it is also proven by science. Most of all because of the Phase REM (Rapid Eye Movement). This movement is generated under the effects of brain activity when the individual is in a state of deep sleep and is nothing more than that movement of the eyes that is made from one side to the other with the eyelids closed.

Tenía tiempo sin postear por acá y es que la verdad no me venía ningún tema a la mente que valiera la pena, hasta que un día sin previo aviso alguien me hizo la pregunta: ¿Los Bebés Pueden Soñar? y pues me pareció un buen tema para plantearlo aquí en la comunidad.

  Yo no soy experta en el tema, no soy médico pediatra ni madre ni nada relacionado que tenga que ver con bebés. Sólo soy alguien común que está planteando sus ideas en un blog personal. Así que sólo quiero comenzar diciendo que estas líneas desglosadas a continuación son meramente mi opinión personal sobre este tema.

  Por supuesto que antes de armar mi post tuve que indagar un poco para confirmar o desmentir mis sospechas al respecto y debo decirles que en lo personal: yo sí creo que los bebés tienen sueños cuando duermen y más cuando lo hacen en un sueño tan profundo. Esto por varias razones.

  ¿Cuáles podrían ser esas razones? pues la primera y principal es el aprendizaje adquirido durante su día vivido. A medida que un bebé comparte con sus padres y familiares, poco a poco va aprendiendo cosas, aunque no sepa hablar y en dado caso que el bebito sea totalmente saludable y posea sus 5 sentidos completos, este puede oír, ver, oler, degustar y sentir.

  Por tal razón yo deduzco que los bebés sueñan con lo que experimentan durante todo su día, así van armando recuerdos en su subconsciente y aprenden poco a poco algo nuevo. El cuerpo humano es asombroso y yo me lo imagino como una máquina, en este caso más bien como una computadora (el cerebro) que cuando se pone en modo suspensión es que va almacenando todos los archivos importantes y borra lo que no es útil.

  Pero si el bebé está recién nacido ¿aun así puede soñar? Yo estoy casi segura que si lo hace. Pero si lo hace, ¿con qué va a soñar si no conoce nada aún?, tal vez no conozca nada del mundo porque no ha abierto los ojos o porque literalmente está experimentando su primer día, no tiene otra imagen que la del útero de su mamá, pues yo pienso que el bebito sueña con esa experiencia y la del parto o cesárea, dependiendo su caso.

  Supongo que por eso es que hacen gestos tan graciosos cuando están recién nacidos. Donde suelen hacer varias veces muecas como de disgusto o que algo les sabe mal, ¿saben de qué muecas hablo verdad? todas esas que los adultos no podemos dejar de ver porque cada una es especial y tierna y adorable y sólo dan ganas de darles besitos por ser tan hermosos sólo por existir.

  ¿Y qué hay de los bebés que aún están en el vientre de la madre? ¿ellos también sueñan? Por supuesto! ¿cómo no van a soñar? si al estar en el vientre de la madre uno puede escuchar, sentir e incluso "saborear" ciertos alimentos que ingiere la madre cuando come, y si el bebé tiene los ojos abiertos durante el embarazo, pues también ve luces y resplandores en el vientre de su madre, como se han mostrado en algunas películas o documentales de bebés.

  En este caso puedo hasta certificarlo, ya que yo tengo recuerdos de cuando estuve en el vientre de mi mamá. Pero ¿cómo puedo saber eso? Créanme que no fue facil recordarlo. Esto lo experimenté gracias a una terapia cognitiva que tuve hace años con una terapeuta experta en Programación Neurolingüística y en aquel entonces necesitaba un reajuste mental (por así decirlo).

  Ella no hizo nada extraordinario, no me cambió ni batió su barita mágica para ayudarme, simplemente compartió conmigo sus conocimientos y me hizo una terapia que me ayudara a "cortar el cordón umbilical con mi mamá" (Si, yo era muy dependiente a ella) y la verdad es que estaba pasando por un muy mal momento personal y ella fue quien me ayudó mediante una terapia mexicana en la que el paciente tenía que volver a "nacer".

  Si, suena a algo loco, pero en mi caso funcionó. Experimenté literalmente un parto estando ya de adulta jajaja (yo era risa y risa en el proceso) hasta que la cosa se puso seria y me dejé llevar por completo por todo el asunto. Ella me explicó que suele usar esa terapia y hacer ese trabajo para individuos que tienen problemas en el nacimiento, es decir, perdieron a su madre, los abandonaron, rechazaron o algo traumático como tal.

  Ella no estaba segura de que funcionaría conmigo, pero por lo que le conté de mi nacimiento y los problemas que tuve, tal vez funcionaría y así fué. Para mí ella me hizo un Despertar de la Consciencia, y hasta el sol de hoy le estoy completamente agradecida. Y es que yo al nacer tenía problemas respiratorios, del corazón y otras afecciones. Nací antes de tiempo, soy 7 Mesina, y me vi muy mal porque mi mamá se calló en el baño y se golpeó la barriga con el inodoro. El líquido amniótico se solidificaba y pues tuvieron que hacerle cesárea de emergencia y así nací yo.

  El punto de esto es que luego de esa terapia, reviví y recordé muchos momentos de mi vida, muchas situaciones, palabras, gritos, peleas, alegrías, días tristes, muchísimas emociones pasando por mi mente cada día todos los días. Fueron horribles esos días y uno de los recuerdos que tuve fue cuando mi mamá se calló y me golpeó la cabeza en estando en su vientre. Recuerdo la luz que se reflejaba a través de su piel como una membrana.

  Y bueno ya para terminar este post sólo quiero repetir y confirmar que desde mi punto de vista los bebés si son capaces de soñar. ¿Con qué sueñan? pues sus experiencias diarias, así estén en el vientre materno. Por eso es importante que se desenvuelvan en un ambiente tranquilo, silencioso y relajante.

  Tengo entendido que también está comprobado por la ciencia. Más que todo porque se constata la Fase REM (Rapid Eye Movement en inglés) o Movimiento Rápido de los Ojos en español. Este movimiento se genera bajo los efectos de la actividad cerebral cuando el individuo se encuentra en un estado de sueño profundo y no es más que ese movimiento de los ojos que se hace de un lado a otro con los párpados cerrados.
