A cool Saturday post.

Two Squirrels at our birdbath and something else for a laugh.
074 (2).jpg

The one at the back was ready jo jump on as soon as the one on the bath jumped off. But the top one was first doing some sight seeing.

I have only once, briefly, seen two squirrels at the same time on the bath, but they were too quick for me to get a photo. The thing is that squirrels don't bath. They only drink water and then they disappear. Like cats, they clean themselves daily by licking and wiping themselves.
Always full of tricks though, and they are, I think, the most agile jumpers in the trees. It is amazing how fast they can travel along a line of trees, from the one end to the other.
Come and see.

This was the view of the squirrels from my window.
071.JPG

So the back one decided to look for a nut at the top of the log, where a nut may have been placed by another squirrel.
075.JPG

Ah! The one on the bath saw me and he came to the window for a nut.
076.JPG

He decided that the top of a flower pot was the best place to sit and eat the nut.
003.JPG

Now for the laugh!

Hey Zac, look how she is taking her time in the bath.
025.JPG

Ooh you know, woman can be so spiteful. She knows that I also want to bath.
024.JPG

Please can you come out and talk to her.
026.JPG

There you have it. I like at times, to have some fun in my posts as there is nothing funny here today with the upset weather we are having. One more week and all of this will be over, as we will be moving away from here. So, it is going to be a very sad occasion to leave the little ones behind.
We have become big friends with all of them. They trust us and we had much fun with them over the three years we stayed in this house. They all are our friends, but there is always a time to go in life. And we have to do what we have to do.
Such is life.

And That's All Friends.

Another move hopefully to a quiet little place away from noise of sirens and cars.

Little friends made along the way will be missed that is for sure, for both them and for you.

Happy smooth move!

Indeed Lady Joan and the loss of the noise is definitely a bonus.

You know us, and yes madam is in tears most days now that the move is approaching. But such is life.

Thank you, and thank you also for the tip.

Hope all goes well, finding a place to call home can become a problem of late.

Oh yes, and this new one will also be only temporary Lady Joan, until the day that I find the ideal place, if there is such a thing.

Happy hunting, not easy to find ideal of late.

Been searching for 3 years now and still nothing Lady Joan.
The place that I want should have a view of the mountains, but they are all built up with very expensive houses. Something somewhere will pop up sooner or later methinks.

Might have to look further afield, problem is to always check facilities available to your needs.

Private hospital is the greatest need Lady Joan in case of another stroke. Sadly some ideal places only have clinics so in this sense the areas are limited.

Perhaps moving away from city life would alleviate future stroke possibilities.

Mental health exceeds need of hospital close to hand, I think.

Over here it is much town life rather than city life Lady Joan and I think that it is preparing us for smaller town life.

You are right about mental health as the constant problems and busy life is the reason why we moved out of the big city up north, but now the same busyness is heaping up again.

Once I move it must be a remote small place, a good family doctor will suffice. Not trusting going into private or government hospitals all bad in my opinion.

Hopefully soon you will find what you seek.

You certainly have the right idea Lady Joan, the thing is that soon I will have to have a knee replacement. then a spinal fusion and those things a house doctor cannot do. So we have to wait, as the things are very costly and we don't know when or what is going to happen.
All that I know is that I am struggling more to walk and the short distances are not good for my fitness levels. But such is life at the moment.

Still looking at remote yet close, look into Piketberg close enough to big city (2 hrs), yet remote with access to medical, I believe a very well run area. You live in the region perhaps have more insight into this?

Bad design when things fall apart and replacements are required, hopefully soon you have this behind you affording more freedom in movement.

Never been to Piketberg, but I know that it is a town on the West Coast. I am allergic to the west coast as it gets too hot there. We are looking more in the Swartland area and back down towards Stellenbosch.

Yes, it is becoming worse by the day, but I bear with it until I can no more. Just my way in life Lady Joan.

Also Swartland approx 150 km north of Stellenbosch, 98 km from Saldanha Bay sounds an interesting place to look into.

Nothing can be more humid nor hot than Durban in summer, actually would be a pleasure for me, always able to add an aircondioner into a home if required.

What I like about Swartland is that they took the number one spot for effective municipalities in the Western Cape. So yes, we are also looking and maybe, who knows.

I hope you are moving to somewhere will you have more visitors to your garden.

Sadly not, my friend, as it is a much smaller garden enclosed by high walls. More like a courtyard.

That's a shame. But you may be able to attract a few birds into it. Hopefully you will still be able to enjoy the surrounding countryside, even if you have to travel further.

Yes it is, but we will take our 20 flower pots with us and hopefully it will attract some sunbirds, as they love the flowers.

Thank you for your care and as usual we will make do my friend.

One more week and all of this will be over, as we will be moving away from here.

Hopefully you will move to a similarly good (maybe to an even better) place. And hopefully you will build new friendships there. Who knows. Maybe there will be other squirrels, or different animals.

I wish you good health, good luck and all the best.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.

Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Thank you for the kind comment and no there are no animals at the new place. Only a small enclosed garden, but the noise of traffic and such are far away. So it is a place of peace.
We can still drive out to visit farms and the mountains and the beach is also close.

I hope that your weekend is also good.

Blessings to you from South Africa.

I feel everyone I know is moving to one place or the other, some are done and some are still on it while others were unable due to passport, or timing issues.

Same here and it seems to be the season when the most moves are taking place.
It is our 10th move now so we are quite experienced in it.

There's a lot going on and I can imagine that it's a lot of fun watching the squirrels and birds having fun with the bird bath 😊
So you are really moving to another place, my friend? I do hope that it will be a good and quiet place and that there's enough space for some entertainment in the backyard 😀

Thank you and yes I have had many adventures with the animals and the birds at the birdbath. We are leaving the birdbath here in the hope that the new owner will also put fresh water in every day for them.

Yes we are packing up and preparing for the move on the 15th of this month. It is indeed a very quiet place, but much smaller than this place. The garden is also a quarter size of this garden and there is only one small lemon tree in it.
I have kept all of our succulent plants in pots and we are taking them with us. About 30 pots and we will transform the garden into a small part of nature.
Marian is a problem though as she keeps on crying about the animals that we are leaving 😥

Cheers and thanks.

I hope that the little critters and the birds are lucky to get another animal lover to live in your house and I can feel so very well with Marian, because it's like leaving family members back who need daily care.

In the meantime Marian has connected with the lady next door and she will take over the nut job for our squirrels. But Harry and Sally we are not sure about.
One thing that I know is that nature will take care of them.

I don't like to leave things undone and at least the the squirrel issue was sorted.
Thank you for the care my friend.

Cheers and thanks.

Harry and Sally will find a new place, and maybe they will find even your new home 😁

But I am very happy that you have found someone who takes care of the little squirrels, because I don't think they will leave this place 😊
