A family of Pied Crows.

Crows don't mind the strong winds as they are expert flyers.
006.jpg

And of course, crows also have a strong family and community bond.

They are reckoned as some of the most intelligent birds and one alarm call from a crow whenever a strange raptor enters their territories, will result in an army of crows attacking the stranger in the air.
It is only the meat eating raptor birds that the crows will attack and they leave all of the other birds alone, except of course if it is hungry and goes out nest hunting for food.

This was some kind of political meeting, and we watched the delegates arriving.
027.JPG

020.JPG

The pied crow (Corvus albus) is a widely distributed African bird species in the crow genus.
Structurally, the pied crow is better thought of as a small crow-sized raven, especially as it can hybridise with the Somali crow (dwarf raven) where their ranges meet in the Horn of Africa. Its behaviour, though, is more typical of the Eurasian carrion crows, and it may be a modern link (along with the Somali crow) between the Eurasian crows and the common raven.

The scout (also in the first picture) was flying high up above the meeting and keeping an eye out for opposition party snoopers.
001.JPG

I think the leading couple at the right in the black suits was on their way to the toilet, while their two bodyguards at the left were looking around for any suspicious movements.
030.JPG

Would this fly over perhaps be spies?
018.JPG

No, just two sets of Hadeda Ibis (Bostrychia hadedash) birds coming over.

I love to put some imaginative stories to the pictures that I take of animals and birds, as we are all supposed to have fun here on Hive.
Life can certainly get to us and when one gets a bit older, many new health battles enter the ring. But it has always been humor that I use as a crutch and it works well, for me at least.
So, I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Note: I will be away for 3 days, as I have to undergo a hospital procedure, but I will catch up on the replies as soon as I am back.

in your area, the forest ecosystem, the survival of animals is still well maintained, it's different in my area, illegal logging, and poachers, without paying attention, and ignoring the preservation of nature, is very unfortunate

I am a newcomer to the hive blog, please guide and direct, so that I can grow and be great like you

Cape Nature definitely looks after the nature in this province, but all nine provinces over here also have many poachers, especially of our Rhinos. It is a worldwide problem, and sadly instead of caring mankind tries to destroy everything.

I am not great. I started the same like you. And all I can say to you, is to just keep on posting and engaging, and building your wallet (Hodl).

The treatment was a horrible experience, as they did some welding in my stomach Hannes.
But as you can see, I am still up and coping.

I try my utter best to stay honest, but I also know that none of us can ever be perfect. Just as well, as otherwise life would become very boring 😜 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I have seen crows attacking raptors, real sky battle. But also doves chasing a crow as well.
I hope all goes well and you will l be back with new stories to tell.

Yes, you are right and we have also seen many of the other small birds attacking big raptor birds. Most impressive how they try to protect their nests.
As you can see, I am back and life goes on. Thank you for the care.

African crows are much brighter than those that live in our area, apparently they do not want to give way to zebras in contrast :)

Granted that some birds have singular horns, like the Hornbills over here, but I don't think that a pied crow will look good with a set of horns.

This was especially evident during the quarantine, some went out to the pulpit and shouted how important it is for brothers and sisters to get vaccinated, because they will be able to serve in the church, serve in holiday camps for the disabled, and move freely around the world, and someone , like me, turned out to be a lazy Christian who preferred to give up blessings and ministries, but not to follow the sweet poison, for which its creators were even ready to pay extra :)

Only a handful will travel on the narrow road, as there are many rocks on it, so the wide and smooth road is what they choose to walk on through this life. Be it as it may, we know that God is in charge.

And a strange regularity, the larger the Church becomes, the narrower the path becomes. Small churches in the villages, where everyone cares about each other, know all the joys of each other's sorrows, you feel at home there, and, in the huge, city churches, I see a horse whose eyes are covered with blinkers, and she sees only the growth of the church in front of her, but forgets about the souls of those who have already become part of it, somehow everything turned upside down :)
!BEER

Sadly, the world has invaded the church and the pastors are now only worried about their salaries and the perks. Charles Haddon Spurgeon warned about this so many years ago and I spent all of my preaching years for free. Including funerals, baptisms and weddings. God will supply everything that one needs to serve Him.
Small home churches are the best, as it was so long ago.
!BEER

The Baptists quote Spurgein very carefully, but they quote when they don't have their own thoughts. The church now will often create an atmosphere of its own among strangers and a stranger among its own, but I regret to see that those churches that have accepted gifts, many gifts, are gradually turning into insurance agencies that need to improve their insurance sales skills and go deep into not very digestible business use the old and the weak to replenish their, as they think, very holy wallets, forgetting about the simplicity in God, it is very difficult to see some kind of balance without strong excesses :)
!BEER

I have been in some serious arguments with some pastors and reverends, as they twist the truth of the gospels to suit their own lifestyles. Sadly, nowadays the churches are emptying and one don't need to ask why. If the Spirit is not in there, then it's just another empty building.
!BEER

I dub that the Holy Spirit is present in any church, but I see such a picture, parishioners come to church in diving suits, and the breathing tubes are fixated on the pastor and deacons, they breathe what the minister breathes, but the Holy Spirit wafts around them, who is simply unable to break through the shell of these suits.
!BEER

An interesting way to look at the situation and also a very sad way, as no pastor could ever get them into heaven. It all comes from above, as there is only one gate keeper.

The birds that exist crow are much more intelligent, the way we read the story when we were children that the water inside the glass was low and he wisely put a stone to bring it to the water line and then the water again had drunk. All these birds looks so beautiful and amazing.
