A lovely new Spring season day...

...and the birds were all happy and singing. We even saw some butterflies.

So, I have an inventory of birds (3 shots), butterflies (6 shots), and some fruit tree blossoms (1 shot), for you to see.
The day did not start too well, as I had a complaint about water to deal with when we arrived. There is a bird bath on the premises, but it had only a wee bit of water in it, and one of nature's residents lodged the complaint, as you will see below.

The resident was a Cape White Eye (Zosterops virens), and you can see how it inspected the bird bath in this shot below.

It gave me a withering wintry look saying; Hey, old man, come and fill the bird bath with water, as a man is thirsty. Shame, and as soon as I filled the birdbath with water, the two Cape Canaries (Serinus canicallis) in the first picture chased the White Eye away.

Now let me show you some butterflies.

This first Citrus Swallowtail Butterfly of the season, and I was extremely happy to get it on camera.

As a line break, have a look at these beautiful fruit tree blossoms. The fruit trees had a time to distinguish between the winter and spring seasons. Some of them bloomed much too early, and they will bear no fruit. This is due to the strange weather patterns that we have here. But thankfully many other fruit trees bloomed at the correct time.

Here below, you will see our first Painted Lady Butterfly, and it already had a chip out of its wing, either from the heavy winds or from another butterfly, as they are very aggressive.

This is a Garden Acraea Butterfly on a yellow daisy bush.

They have been around for a while already, and it just goes to show how confused the insects and the trees are.

We don't expect a long Spring season, as Summer is knocking on the door, and on this day, we already had a 35C temperature in our province. Like I said elsewhere, our province had a summer temperature and the provinces up north in the country still all had a winter temperature of 12C. Confusing, isn't it? As one would expect all the provinces to have the same temperatures, but not so as that El Nino guy is playing the fool with all of us.

They are saying that some severe droughts are on our doorstep, and the worry is that the dam levels are already dropping due to the evaporation of the hot sun. Some years ago, we had close to zero dam levels here and thankfully it was a rainstorm that alleviated the pressure. I hope that we will not return to such a situation again. The government is already investigating alternative methods and systems to complement the fresh water supplies. Desalination means turning seawater into freshwater is also in the pipeline. So, let's see what happens.
Such is life.
