A play between light and dark.

Some random photos to show you the lovely sights that we have here all in one day. Strong winds can conjure up some amazing events in the sky and on the mountains.

This is the road to our doctor's rooms, as I had to have an iron infusion early in the day. It is like letting air into a car's flat tire :)
In my case, the pump was a needle and solution was dripped into a vein.
The famous cape strong winds were blowing a cat out of a box and I knew that we were in for some dramatic shows.
So come and have a look.

This was the view that I took from our car as we left the doctor's place.

See the white spots on our car's windscreen, that's rain drops.

Now have a look at how, in the two photos below, the weather changes during the flight of these birds. That is how quick the winds can change our weather here, from light to dark, and from dark to light.

Now for some mountain shots.

Finally, the dark won the battle of the day.

We are now used to the quick changes in the weather but let me tell you when we first arrived here in this province, it was very confusing. I would go out some days in bright sunshine to take photos, and unexpectedly, within minutes, I would rain soaking wet :)
Not anymore, nowadays, as it took me about a year to suss things out. Thankfully the farmers here are also very helpful, and they put me wise to a few things, especially how not to get wet.
They call the western cape province, the Cape of Storms and our coasts are littered with old sunken ships to show what the strong gusts of wind can get up to, normally at cost of the sailors.
Such is life.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

And That's All Friends.

Hope that wind blows some rain our way, get the clouds dancing across the sky with no indication of a few drops....

Good luck at infusion, not one to sit long I can imagine it feels like wasting precious time, has to be done...

We have windy gusts with rain here now that they say reach up to 80kph and some mountain passes, including Chapmans Peak are closed due to the winds.
As the wind comes from a north, northwest direction warnings are out up to Plett, so I am sure that some of the rain will also reach you guys.

It was the third and final infusion, as one was done every week on Thursdays for 3 weeks, so now I have to wait for 6 weeks to go and do a blood test to see if my iron level has increased out of the danger zone.
I am a bit sceptic at this stage, as still battling with leg cramps at night in bed.
I sleep on average only 3 to 4 hours every night.
Such is life.

I can imagine how frantic scenarios like that could be. Seizing every second of sunshine with the knowledge that it could be gone in minutes. It was so bright this morning that I was hopeful for a sunny weather. Now, I look outside my window to see really dark clouds.

Oh yeah, the quick changes keeps me on my toes and I do indeed gab every moment of sunshine on my camera. The weather has now worsened and we get high speed gusts of wind with rain that is very dangerous. Several mountain passes are closed.

This is so beautiful...

Gosh what a gorgeously dramatic collection of clouds! I love the birds and the magestic mountains. So beautiful, as your photography always is ❤️.

Awesome dramatic clouds, my friend, I love these rocky mountains covered in clouds.

Your weather is a bit like here in the mountains, where you can have completely different within five minutes. You start a hike under blue skies and if you don't have rain gear with you, you often might get wet ⛈️

Thank you my friend and we share your love for the mountains and the clouds.

I thought that you would like the post before this one more. It is a steel dome that was built for a car launch, although I only found out about it later.

Exactly the same and the wind can change its direction to bring in rain clouds in the blink of an eye.
Today we had north-westerly wind in the morning and a full westerly wind before 12 noon. Luckily no rain 😉 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

You're very welcome my friend 😊

The steel dome certainly looks great, but it's man made ... obviously 😉 !LOLZ

It's Thursday - wishing you a wonderful day Zac 🌞

Yeah, man made only for a one-day car launch and now it's gone again as you will see in the photo.

Thank you and the day was good Hannes, tomorrow will be a wet Friday for us again.
Hope that your Friday will be good.

Cheers and thanks.

Unfortunately, the blockchain doesn't show images today.

We are having another hot day here. I don't even want to know how hot it is in my office ... no, there's no A/C 😅 !LOLZ
Hope your Friday isn't too wet, so that you can go out for some photos 🌞

Only on Ecency, as the images show in PeakD. I saw a notice that the Ecency devs are working on the problem.

You must appreciate the warmth my friend, as we are ice cold and very wet here today. The great news is that I finally got the baby Malachite sunbird on camera, but you broke the images on ecency and now I can't show you the photo 😮 !LOLZ

They reckon that the rain will stop early tomorrow morning, so let's hold thumbs 🤞
I hope that your Saturday will be a bit cooler.

Cheers and thanks.

Hm, I have tried PeakD and Hive.blog, neither worked for me. Anyway, it works again 😀

Well, I would prefer temperatures below 30C, but it's fine. It's a lovely cool morning today, and in a few minutes we'll leave to the marriage. No clouds in the sky tells me it's going to be hot again later 😅 !LOLZ

Hope you're Saturday and weekend will be dry and nice, my friend 😊🌞

Oh yeah, I saw that and now it is back on Ecency.

A cool morning would be perfect for the wedding that you look forward to so much 🤣 !LOLZ
Only joking, because I know where your mind will be, and it is definitely not on the wedding.

Saturday half day was wet, but thankfully we had some sunlight and I saw the Malachite baby, so all is good and hope that your wedding will not be too heartsore. 😉

Cheers and thanks.

The wedding day was sunny and very hot. It actually was a lot of fun and we got home way after midnight. But you are right, I would have preferred to be somewhere in the mountains 😂 !LOLZ

We've had a wet and stormy Monday with many land slides and floodings, but luckily not here in our area.

Hope your week started well, my friend 😊🌞

Yes, I saw in the previous reply how you enjoyed the wedding and the mountains will have to wait until your legs have recovered 🤣 !LOLZ

Did you see how the hurricane devastated some parts of Mauritius Hannes? Then Greece came out with a statement that the wildfires there has become uncontrollable. Many other countries also suffer from severe weather catastrophes, so you and I are lucky that it hasn't touched us yet.
I read about the damages in I think it "Lower Austria" and it was really bad.
We thank God that you guys are safe.

Monday was clear and sunny, Tuesday has a strange white heat haze across the sky and Wednesday will be hot until the new cold and storms arrive on Wednesday night.
Thankfully thus far I got some nice pictures to share.

I hope that your week is improving.

Cheers and thanks.

We are safe here, my friend, thanks a million, and I am happy that you are safe too.

It's raining since yesterday and it will stay wet till the weekend. I don't mind because I've got enough to do in the office and don't get out when I come home.

Hopefully when I'm back at work by mid September, I will have some more time, because all our staff in the office will be back in the office ... hopefully 😅 !LOLZ

Yep! Glad tidings indeed. So thanks two million 😊

I am sure that Austria is somehow connected to South Africa, as the rain will start here tomorrow morning until Wednesday the 6th. The bad news is that I will not get the Super Moon tomorrow due to the rain clouds. It is a rare second full moon in the same month and it brings our spring tides in the ocean 😥

Oh man! Don't even think like that, as if some of the staff don't return, then guess who will have a mountain of work again. As they say, "touch wood" that it will not happen 😮 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

We also haven't seen the Super Moon - the rain clouds covered the whole sky.

All staff will be back by next week, I am very sure, but I will be gone 😂 !LOLZ
The new apprentice will also come tomorrow. I can only hope that she will still be here when I'm back in a week for one day.

So all of you guys are playing the game called musical chairs 🤣 !LOLZ
Just get the new apprentice to phone me, as I will tell her what a wonderful mountain goat her new boss is. I am sure that she will want to stay forever.

Cheers and thanks.

!LOLZ yep, it's like that every summer. But I prefer to have my holidays in September or in Autumn anyway. That's why I will have another week or two in October or November 😁

The apprentice isn't even 18 yet, so she'll still be here at work when I'm 6 feet under 😂 !LOLZ
