A road trip over the mountain.

We had a meeting with a farmer at a town on the other side of the mountain.

I am exploring avenues of food and fruit supply for another feeding project that I am working on and we had to take a quick trip over the mountain for a meeting with a friend. In here I will show you some sights on our way.
So come with us for a drive.

Note: I am posting early to avoid the powercuts that we will have today.

The approaching road to the town is a national road and it was neat and clean, but in the distance I saw an unfamiliar green piece of land on the right hand side of the road below the mountain.
Now I know this road well, as we used to stay in this town and that green spot was interesting.

Closer to the town I took a back road and we passed some farms.

I was amazed to see the new lines of tunnels at a berry farm, as when we moved out there was only one line of tunnels.

But my aim was to see what that green land, that was in fact yellow and here we were getting closer to it. Before these were all wheat lands.

I took a side road, thinking that it led to the farm.

But not so as the road veered off in the direction of another town and this was all that I could get on the camera.

At the meeting I asked my friend what it was and he said that the farmer was struggling with the slow growth of the wheat and he found that Canola was a much better option to grow. So the experiment worked and soon there will be many more lands here covered in that lovely yellow color.

This was the road that we travelled on back home and here we were back on the mountain again.

This photo taken on the mountain pass is a lovely vista of the town where we now live.

Just a little add on here. I have not had a thick strawberry milkshake with a dollop of ice cream in since my teens and Marian was very surprised that I did not order my normal coffee :)

This morning at 10am I am opening a conference that is focused upon gathering all of the spiritual leaders in the area to partner with the police in an effort to tackle the crime over here. Papillon was appointed to a team that will screen and appoint prospective commitee leaders that will drive the project.
We regard every day as an adventure and we don't sit around waiting for things to happen, as we go out to make them happen. Aside from all of my nature posts, we also work in the charity fields as you can see in the pinned post on my blog.

So we don't just take photos of nature, as we also drive social improvement projects in the communities.
Just our way of life.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

And That's All Friends.
