A spirit raising strong wind.

Wow! Look at this very tall guy standing in the deep waters.
219.jpg

In my previous post about the kite surfers in the strong winds, I promised that I would also show you the sailing board surfers and now you will see two guys launching their crafts into the sea.

You can see the previous post [HERE],(https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@papilloncharity/strong-winds-mean-rough-seas).

The strong south-eastern wind called the "Cape Doctor" was up and that meant high speeds for all of these daring guys.

Okay, okay, he was standing on a board and I think that he might be a trainee sail surfer.
223.jpg

The following 4 photos will show you the launch of a sail surfer guy and it does look very easy.
But believe me that this guy is a pro and I would probably hit the deck as soon as I get onto the board.

138.jpg

144.jpg

155.jpg

Then there was this guy, he was clearly also a pro and had success right from the start. Now come and watch him go.
218.jpg

225.jpg

A kite surfer was approaching the guy on the sail board.
226.jpg

The kite surfer was much faster and he did a broadside turn.
233.jpg

But the sail surfers can also run at very high speeds across the ocean.
269.jpg

Passing each other at different levels, as the one at the back was in a trough of the next wave.
270.jpg

Nothing as daring as the kite surfers that jump high in the air, but still a steady sport at speed.
Of course it all depends on the winds and the Cape Doctor is most welcome for these guys, while us normal people huddle in our cars or houses. Some even with great fears that this notorious wind will rip the roofs of the houses off.
Quite often the Cape Doctor wind leaves much damages in it's wake and I am sure that there will be reports of uprooted trees in the news soon.

If you are interested in the Cape Doctor wind, here is a recent report.

Wow this tall man keep his balance beautifully. You've photographed some great moments. I like to watch these scenes. Especially when they move along the waves and show courage.

Those sports are all about being able to balance well.
Yes, the action shots look great when they breach the waves.

The sailingboard surfers are called Windsurfer here - have you ever seen them jump? Depending on the wind they jump very high, not as high as kite surfers, but too high and too dangerous for me 🤣 but watching them makes fun.

Cool photos as always, Zac, and because I know you will smile about me now, you get a !LOLZ

Here I thought 66kpm was bad the other day, but then you are used to the Cape Doctor arriving... those winds will lift you up on an umbrella and land you in the next province 😄

Gorgeous outdoor photography share thanks Stephen!

You don't want to experience the Cape Doctor Lady Joan.
We were meeting an old friend of mine tonight on the 11th floor of a high apartment building at the beachfront and the wind actually screamed through the passages.
A high pitched scream that sounded terribly tortured.

Thank you and glad that you liked the post.

Moving to the coast we rented in a block of flats on a hill, open the door when wind was up the dinning room moved into the lounge, which all pushed up again the glass frontage of a verandah. Was out of there before the lease was up 😄

Hahaha, we have had a torrid time of things this last week, but not as bad as George and the other areas.
Just so glad that the drought is now broken over there.

Btw. Why would you put yourself and your family at risk by renting a high spot on an exposed hill 🤣

A warning came in today about more drama awaiting us with this wind.
Have a look.

Inclement weather expected throughout this week, had 'fireworks' on Monday where we unplugged everything for over an hour with massive electrical storm. Winds blew down a number of trees the day before.

Ended up in high rise flats when house searching, made hasty retreat to Terra-firma finding cottages or caravan park cottages to live in preferably.

Have a great day!

Now that's the one thing that I miss Lady Joan, the electrical skies with their rippling thunder bolts.
Very rare here for some reason and I have only heard a rumble once or twice.
The wind has again started to stoke up here and tomorrow it's expected to be very bad.
Will hit the shores from Saldana Bay to Plettenberg Bay with full force.

I spent much time in cottages, lodges and caravan parks over the years and I will tell you a secret. I love living in a caravan park. A totally different care-free life and it must be the hippie still in me.

Hope that your day was also good.

Coast here still has the crazy big electrical storms pass through, pity dog gets so scared which means I don't get opportunity to try photograph.

In our immediate vicinity caravan parks have been closed due to vagrants or converted into permanent homes one would have to travel further down South Coast now to use rented sites for holidays.
