A strange combination.

Dragonflies and motorbikes have something in common, do you know what it is?

Yes, you are right as they are both signals of summer. The first picture is a female Red-veined Dropwing (Trithemis arteriosa).

Her name is Sabrina and she owns a Royal Enfield shop in Cape Town where they have 20 of the bikes in stock. I used to own a few bikes in my lifetime and the Royal Enfield is a legendary bike as it was involved in World War 1 and World War 2.
I will give more information below.

Can you believe that huge bag on her back is a Paraglider and they were on their way to launch from the top of the mountain pass.

First World War (1914–1918)
In 1914 Enfield supplied large numbers of motorcycles to the British War Department and also won a motorcycle contract for the Imperial Russian Government. Enfield used its own 225 cc two-stroke single and 425 cc V-twin engines. They also produced an 8 hp motorcycle sidecar model fitted with a Vickers machine gun.

Second World War (1939–1945)
During World War II, The Enfield Cycle Company was called upon by the British authorities to develop and manufacture military motorcycles. The models produced for the military were the WD/C 350 cc sidevalve, WD/CO 350 cc OHV, WD/D 250 cc SV, WD/G 350 cc OHV and WD/L 570 cc SV. One of the most well-known Enfields was the 125cc 2-stroke Royal Enfield WD/RE, designed to be dropped by parachute with airborne troops.

So I am sure that you can see why I love these bikes.

And in the 3 photos below I had some fun with a male Red-veined Dropwing (Trithemis arteriosa).

Oh to be young again in summertime, but I look in the mirror in total surprise, at no hair on my shoulders and the age in my eyes. I twisted the lyrics a bit of the song "Amanda" :)
I still have that young boy inside and as a responsible adult, if you accuse me of not resting in bed, then I will blame that same naughty youngster inside of me. He likes to have fun and to pull pranks and he has escaped from some impossible scenarios at times. But I love him and I hold his hand as no one will dare ever to hurt him again.
Just some word play here.

I hope that you all are having a wonderful Sunday and that you liked the pictures and the story.

And That's All Friends.
