Bird action today.

I will show you the actions of a few different birds that we encountered.

A young ringneck dove was bothering her mother for some food.

Just some fun with the birds around here to lighten up your day.
What a change, as when we lived up north, I had to go out and hunt to find birds for my camera's daily feed, but down here, more than 2000 kilometers away, the birds are all over the show. We noticed that at our previous house down here, as I could simply take bird photos through our study window. No such luck in the big city up north.

But the mother was having none of her child's irritating behaviour and she took off with her child in tow.

I think that this female sunbird was practicing her spin for the bird ballet competition.

And after her ballet practice she joined Malachite, her husband for lunch.

This sunbird was looking for a spot to practice for the singing competition.

So he found the ideal spot and let rip with his favorite song.

Like I said in the intro, there is such a big difference between big city life and the rural life that we now have. Cars and big concrete buildings are replaced by animals and big trees. Just now I am sitting and watching a Cape Sparrow picking off thin twigs for his nest, on the granadilla fence right here outside the study window.

Don't believe me? Have a look as I took this photo right now.

So yes, birdlife is abundant here and we are very thankful and happy.

I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

And That's All Friends.
