Come and greet the new day with us.

Always exciting to see a new day breaking and love the views.
002.jpg

The little Cape White Eye knew that the sun would arrive soon, so come and see the views before sunrise this morning.

The weatherman said that it would be a cloudy day, but thankfully no rain as we have had plenty. And so he was right for a change.
I was out early into the garden with the camera waiting for the dawn to break, and below I will show you some shots that I took this morning.

This Sunbird was praising the new day with song.
002.jpg

Oh yes, on this section of the mountains, the sun made it's approach known in colors.
017.jpg

Here's a look at the far end of the mountains with my favourite little house. I so wish that we could have lived in that house.
030.jpg

Another look at a valley in the mountains as the sky was clearing.
036.jpg

Of course the breakfast guests arrived early and we could feed them before our first meeting this morning.
009.jpg

To me the weekday names do not matter as I am just grateful that I can open my eyes and see every new day. Nature always has a calming influence on me and I love to go out early, camera in hand, to pray.
Many times Mother Nature favors me with some beautiful sights, and of course many other times the days are bleak or rainy so I have to get out there during the dry days.
We had some problems to sort out during a meeting this morning with an agent and it seems that the road forward is now mapped out.
All that we can do is hope.

And That's All Friends!

Oh wow such beautiful scenery, I bet it would be starting to get a little cooler now. Weather's getting warmer down south.

No my friens, if it was I would have lived there by now. It's on a private farm and here they are not allowed to sell houses on farms.
A pity methinks.

Can't they rent them by the month? If not, you might need to look further away.

Ha, the rentals are very expensive and rare here as everybody wants to stay on a farm.

We can't move very far away, as all of our charity work is in the poor areas of the town.

Then you really are limited :( It's hard if you can't expand your search...

Yes :) Maybe you can even find a place in the country one day :) Have you talked to the owners of the one you took a picture of?

We can never know what the future holds for us my friend, but fortunately we have a weapon called hope.
No, that's a private farm with no rentals, so no need to talk to them.

I love birds greeting in the morning too. And I was able to shoot one at a tip of a tree.

Squirrels look so very much part of the scenery, I hear you when you say the house you would love to live in, close enough to assist others, far enough to enjoy peace and quiet... Hopefully one day we find what we looking for, until then have a wonderful day Stephen.

Oh yes Lady Joan, NO NOISE is a must as I flourish in silence and no one around peeping from behind curtains to try and gather false news to tell their friends about the suspicious man with a camera taking photos of their houses.

Imagine that? Me taking photos of houses, where do these people come from, outer space?
But I forgive them as Covid has just served to enhance the suspicious nature of people.

Hopefully we will indeed find what we are looking for.

I had a great day and hope the same in your case my friend.

Nothing better to do than tongue wag causing trouble in most towns, safer to take your chances out in rural areas, problem is our rural is dangerous, same as town. Chasing square circles!

Ignore them and hope you see some stunning birds up above during change of season.

A bit of a problem, but we have given it some time, as we have a buyer for our place already, but we will not go ahead until we find the right place for us. Many of the farms here have high security systems and we will investigate to see if there are any options.

Ignorance is bliss as they say and yes, we simply carry on with our own lives.
Soon the predators will be about again.

Really hope you find a home on a farm with security, this is such a problem being older and becoming a target, yet yearning to live in quiet establishment. Walled green roof development everywhere is not an option either, plenty of retirement places that sound good, but not for me.

Considering options with sons planning move, my sister and sister-in-law sitting in similar situation, perhaps find a place where we can all settle having same wish for a quieter life. Wait and see what the future brings....

Thank you and yes, I am also not made for retirement places.
So you guys are also thinking about moving. The problem is to find a secure area of which there are very few left in this country, but thankfully most of them are in the Cape, at a price of course.

There are those that try consistently to tarnish the Cape, but coming from Johannesburg, I can assure you that things are tons better here.

Let me try a !WINE

One day at a time, Cape sounds a good option, yet I have two friends who returned from Middelburg and Mossel Bay not finding what they were looking for, expensive way to find some peace and quiet. Both settling back down the coast here once again.

For the time being we will wait and see what opportunities arise once the younger generation have managed to make a move.

Nope for us Middelburg and Mossel Bay was never an option. Besides I know Mossel Bay very well as I was stationed at 1 SAI in Oudtshoorn in my army days.

Anywhere within 40 or 50 Ks from the Cape Town city is good enough.
We know a very good agent here that is now searching for a place for us, so if anything is decided at your end, feel free to give me a call.

Thanks, I will remember your kind offer, at the rate things are moving the younger generation are now sitting and waiting, not all that patiently either!

Lovely photos. Especially the squirrels and Cape White Eye. I am so grateful that we have Hope and that you are giving hope to many. So many people without hope in the world.
