Cruise into a hot sky.

We have a bit of frying going on under the African sun.
127.JPG

Even the moon was happy to be covered with a bit of cloud.

The second photo will show you how the late afternoon gradually started and we had weird pods of clouds floating over on their way somewhere.
Some severe storms and floods are taking place inland, cars trying to cross low-lying bridges are washed away in the rivers. A few drownings have also been reported, but thankfully as we are near the coast most of the storms have for a change blown over us.
Come and take a walk with us in the night sky.

Now when the sun says goodnight to the mountains (song lyrics).
102.JPG

Four photos below to show you the moon's early night start. Battling with the clouds. And its almost full emergence.
097.JPG

Oh yes, that beautiful moon didn't know that a battle with the clouds was lying in wait.
108.JPG

132.JPG

Wonderful to watch the clouds at play in the dark night and also lovely to see how the moon tries to break through, as in the first photo.
A bonus was that we had a soft cool wind blowing, and it is almost as if the hot day has not existed.
Unfortunately, inside our cottage, it is still hot due to the walls being impregnated with heat the whole day by the sun.
Some nights we struggle to sleep due to the heat, but we make do somehow.

And That's All Friends.

Were you in South Africa I am sure that you would be on the Papillon board Lady Denise.
You are a great soul with a lovely caring heart.
We thank you for the wonderful 50HBD donation to our cause and I think that by now you know that the Lord sees everything that you do. He also returns everyone's unconditional deeds of love abundantly.
We have come a long way together even before Hive and you have always been a shining light.
So, from our hearts to your heart THANK YOU! ❤️ !LUV ❤️

Thank you also for the uplifting message here !LOLZ

So it would be amiss of me not to give you some holy !WINEX

Holy Wine??? I'm in!! Who knew life could be so good!?

You know it is always a pleasure. Sometimes I feel like I am cheating, with no service in sight.

We've come a long way, for sure. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Hahaha, I doubt very much that hive has holy wine, but I do know a few holy souls on hive, hint.

No guilt as we serve and you are a part of us. So our credits are are also yours.

Let's hope that it will continue until we are no more.

I have nightshift when the moon is full next time, but I can look at the photos you will certainly shoot anyway, my friend, and your zoom lens is a lot better than mine 😀

I love the clouds in the second shot, Zac, and the clouds flowing down from the mountain like waterfalls in the fourth photo are great 🤩

I so wish that you would get yourself a Canon Powershot SX70HS as then you will have the same zoom and the camera is cheap Hannes.
Have a look online at the cost and you will see what I mean.

Glad that you love the photos my friend and thank you for visiting the post.

Ps. I just received a message that the Beer went through, so it must have been a glitch.

Cheers and thanks.

Well, one camera is enough for me I think. My camera is great and if I wanted to have more zoom range I would just have to buy a relatively cheap 2x converter. By relatively cheap I mean in comparison to a longer lens, but also cheaper than your Canon 😊 But at the moment I don't want to spend any money on such things and the converter means less light on the sensor anyway.
Your camera has advantages though: it's a lot lighter than mine, you have one lens and I have to carry at least two to have 24-400mm range, but most times I carry 3.

Sometimes the bot is out of beer for some time because a lot more people are using it now than in the first months.

Ha, now you have explained this very well indeed.
Yes camera equipment can be expensive as I well know and if one has a lot of spare cash then it's not a problem. But my SX60 has been discontinued and yet I still use it every day.

You take great photos with your camera and if you don't need a zoom then it's fine.
I think all of us have other priorities for our money spend 😊

Yes, that could be the reason with the bot.

Cheers and thanks.

Oh yes, you are so very right that your camera does the same job as mine. Before this camera I have had a much cheaper one in about the price range of yours, but I didn't like the quality of the photos and thought the van can wait and bought the EOS R - I haven't regretted it yet.

I don't have the money for a better camera Hannes and there is noting in the price range of this one that has the same zoom.
What I am battling with is getting clear macro shots as the very small things are very difficult to take.
I was so excited to get my first double of mating damselflies, but the light and the sun made it almost impossible.

047.jpg

I always get them in single mating pairs but this time I got a double plus another one at the top.
Will do a post about them tomorrow.

Yes the van can wait for a while as other things are more important and you have time available 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Macros are hard to shoot. Only a tiny little shake that you wouldn't even notice is enough for getting a blurry photo. And when it's windy it's even worse. A very fast shutter speed helps and if the subject doesn't move, something you don't like - a tripod.

I haven't even seen a single pair yet - cool shot 👌

The strange ting is that some days I have a slight shake in my hands and on other days my hands are steady. I have never had this problem before, but we think it is a side effect of the pills that I now have to take every day. You are right as shaking causes blurring.

When my hands are steady the wind doesn't bother me as I allow for it, but yes you know all about the broken love affair between me and a tripod 🤣!LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

That's why I often shoot in burst mode, because one image out of 10 might be reasonable sharp 🤣 !LOLZ

When it's windy I need patience to wait until the wind calms down, and you know about my love affair with Lady Patience 😂
