Fabulous colors after the rain.

A bit of slip and sliding practice with the car, but the sights were worth it.

I loved to see how the parking space was reflecting the sky.

Some random pictures on this day to show you the art in nature that the rain leaves in its wake. The wind, clouds and the winter sun combined to show us the beauty in nature. I just cannot get it into my mind, why anyone would like to destroy this, and I fear that some prospector would discover a base load of minerals in the area. The miners would arrive like a pack of hyenas to rip everything apart. Thankfully there is no gold or diamonds here and only old historical farms.

Like I said, the photos are random, and you can pick the ones that talk to you.

The heron bird decided to upstage the dove in the picture above :)

Two pictures here below in another area.

And then my focus shifted onto the mountains again.

Things were starting to get dark and it was time to go.

I almost forgot to show you this photo that I took earlier in day, just after dawn.

A veritable smorgas board of delectable nature pictures and this area is a photographer's delight. The constant changes brought about by the winds are certainly stupefying as you can see in the pictures here. We would have one wind coming over from the south and another wind coming over from the north at the same time. This is because we are situated between two oceans, the Indian Ocean at the south and the Atlantic Ocean at the north. The Western Cape Province is at the extreme southern tip of the African continent.
To confuse matters, at times a very hot wind (in winter) comes over from the east (inland) and an icy cold wind comes in from the west, over the wide-open Atlantic Ocean.
Just the way that things are here.

I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

rain in Africa is differentfrom what we get here in Europe , i remember those rain seasons from 1994 , the benefit of rain in Africa is that you can spot the putholes in the road a lot easier :)

Oh yes, as you know, we live in the famous "Cape of Storms" and the winds have littered our coast lines with old shipwrecks.
The problem is that some of the potholes are big and deep, and they damage many cars. In fact, a few cars landed into the bottom of a pothole already. Needed a crane to get them out.

Oh the first one. Definitely the first one. I love reflections. But then I've said that once or a dozen times before. As for the slipping and sliding. Here too. We have a big kids event tomorrow in town and I don't know if our dirt (hang on while I roll around laughing hysterically) roads will be passable. Unless we take our submarine. Been needing to give it a dive 😏

Glad that you liked the first one, and I hope that the captain of your Yellow Submarine, didn't buy his skippers license at Pep Stores 🤣 !LOLZ

Oh good heavens! Breathtaking photos! You defi iteky have a gift. It's been incredible how the latest flooding has rescuplted our landscape. Looking at the rushing rivers and overflowing wetlands, I'm taken back to the 90s. I don't think we've had a winter so wet since then!

Thank you for the compliment and you are 100% correct, as the weatherman agrees with you.
Most everything is sopping wet over here and a few times now I have sunk up to my ankles in places where it is usually bone dry. The wetlands love the swampy water and so do the water birds.

Seeing that you like reflections, here's something unusual for you 😊

Absolutely stunning!!! I'm usually driving, but we have a vlei here on the r27. Sometimes the water is so still you can see the clouds reflected perfectly. Sometimes it's covered in mist and sometimes it's raging in a storm. I just love water and all it's moods.

Thank you. Vleis, lakes and dams are great for reflections, especially on wind still days. Water is a great medium for photography and also for meditations.
