Fun in the garden.

My first post in here and glad that I discovered another of my favorites.

Today I will show you a game of musical chairs by the wild residents in our garden.

Greetings to all and I am delighted to be here as we have an organic garden that we love to spend time in. We also have a range of birds and a large family of squirrels that are busy in the garden every day and we have formed a friendship with all in our garden.
Now for those that do not know the game of musical chairs, we played it in school and the teacher would play a piano and we would dance in a circle.
She would suddenly stop playing and we would all have to sit on a chair immediately. There were only a limited amount of chairs and the ones that couldn't find a chair would remain standing and then they were out of the game. It was much fun.
Come and watch how the animals play it.

I think that the Robin and Squirrel swopping seats gave you an idea of the game.

Robins are known as insect eaters, but they also know that the special bread that we feed our two wild Egyptian geese is very good.

The squirrels will eat most anything that they can find and here he was gnawing on a sea plant branch to get some salt into him.
We live close to the beach and my wife collects the dried sea plants on the beach for the squirrels.

Of course they are also expert nut beggars and we like to tease them before giving them a nut :)

Finally just a lovely shot of the Robin.

So this will soon all end as we are moving out, but in the 3 years that we stayed here we had much fun with the wild garden residents. All things come to an end and I am sure that we will have more fun wherever we are going.
We tried to keep the garden exactly the same as the surrounding eco-system and that is why the animals like it. I am not very fond of lawns or paving as that always delivers a dead garden. We have to have life in the garden.

My wife feeds everything, from the black ants that keep the termites away, the snails, rain spiders, robins, squirrels, geese, doves, to our plants that feed the sunbirds, butterflies, bees, and other insects.
So spending an hour in the garden, sitting watching the life around us is always such a great pleasure.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

And That's All Friends.

I can imagine how fun it is to watch these creatures life, hehe. Your wife is truly a lover of nature seeing how well she cares for them, from the least, that's just so amazing.

I'm sure these creatures will miss you guys when you leave... 🥺.

Oh yes and one day when we find the ultimate place we will have much fun with the animals again.
They might miss us, but nature looks after its own.

Lovely post and photos as always, my friend, I love the portrait shots of the squirrel and the robin 😊

Oh yes, I know that game, but I am not sure if I have ever played it myself.

I do really hope for you two guys that you will get just as much or even more life and fun at your new home 😀

Thank you Hannes, I appreciate your comment and I know that the squirrel and the robin also know that game. We used to play it in the music class at primary school 100 years ago.

I think that I told you that it is much smaller than our place and there is no garden except for one small lemon tree. But in time we will make a small garden and we have many succulents in big pots for butterflies and sunbirds. The good thing is that there is no noise and we can still drive out into the countryside that I call our big garden 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Yes, I remember that you said that it's smaller, but not that it's that small. So I hope you'll be able to make a home for some lovely insects and birds ... and squirrels 😊

I have already told Marian that I just view it as another temporary house again my friend. She was not too happy, but now she sees things my way, as we are only travelers on this earth.
And of course we will feed any little critters that comes along 😊

Cheers and thanks.

After a few days all small and big animals will know that you have moved there and they will come to say "hello, I'm hungry" 😊

Hahaha, they call it the grapevine and news travel just as fast in the animal kingdom as what it travels in the human scandal kingdom 🤣
Of course we will welcome them with open arms 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Thank you kindly for appreciating the post and we have only one more week here until we move out to another place. So then it will be time to build a new garden.
However I have many photos of this garden and I will post them when I go into my files for photos on our raining days.

Happy gardening also to you Lady Sarah.

Have some !PIZZA
