Geese at the farm dam.

I promised to show you some geese with their goslings at the farm dam.

Yesterday I posted the goats Here and I stated that the next post would be the geese.

As we arrived at the dam, the geese took their goslings to the far side of the dam, in case we could be a threat to them. They did not know that Marian has some carrots to feed the goats. So the first three photos here will show you how the geese went to the other side.
But of course, a surprise took place and we were delighted.
So come and see some goose action at the dam.

We were so busy feeding the goats, that we did not see the geese returning and the next moment there they were.

Mom was searching for carrot scraps that the goats had left behind.

This photo below reminds me of a poem, but the title of the poem is buried in the recesses of my mind. I know that the poem starts with; Three little ....? Or it might even be a rhyme?

After eating the mom led the cute little ones back to the dam and she performed a hara kiri dive wanting the goslings to copy her. But the three small ones at the front lifted their heads shouting nooooo!

As they reached the other side, the action started.

Watch the two little white ducks also approaching the geese.

The mom got out of the water waiting for the goslings to follow her.

The goslings started following her, but the white duck in the foreground was troubling her. So she said to the dad to get rid of the ducks.

Which he did as here below, he was chasing the male duck, with the mom watching attentatively.

But that male duck almost got up out of the water to show the goose his strength, flapping his wings in defiance. But the goose's back was turned :)

Finally there was peace and the goose dad showed the duck his muscles by bending his arms in a body builder pose.

Sorry for the long post, but I can so often get entranced in my stories that I don't bother with the time. I like to cast a human element in the prose in order to make things believable to me, as I live in a story world.
As a child we didn't have much and presents were as scarce as pocket money. But there were always books and I used to read everything and anything that I chanced upon. Nowadays I have a full set of classic story books given to me by our university and I cherish that set like gold. Reading expands one's universe and it is so sad that reading seems to have fallen by the wayside nowadays. It is so simple, as if one wants to get ahead in life, read!
It will open one's mind. Simple but true.
