Golden glow of the mountains.

No, this is not Mars as it is right here in South Africa.

The flow of the cloud topping enhanced the sights and I will also show how a rising cloud flows over a radio signal mountain.

The beauty of nature cannot be described adequately in human language, as there are too many variants that can leave us speechless with wonder.
So whenever I see sights like this, I can only let my camera talk to your soul.

This is the Western Cape Province and it is the famous Hottentots Holland mountain range. A very old and historical mountain range. They reckon the mountains are 510 million years old. Source

Google will tell you that the first settlers dragged their ox wagons and animals with ropes over this mountain on a trek inland.

Right, here we go and watch that rising cloud at the left as it flows towards the signal mountain at the right.
153.jpg

The cloud rises high here below,
168.jpg

And then it collapsed to flow gently over the mountain.
171.jpg

176.jpg

Beautiful to watch the cloud flowing over the mountain and another cloud was on it's way, but the light was getting too dark for photography.
177.jpg

Just a final beautiful view.

So not only will you find beautiful wine farms and fruit farms at this side of the mountain, at the other side are the apple farm valleys.
The mountain range runs across the back of a bay and ends in the ocean. Many of the farms have 5 star restaurants and wine tasting rooms. The weather at this time of year is nice and sunny and for instance here are the temperatures for this week, Monday to Saturday, 27C, 28C, 29C, 30C, 30C and Saturday 32C.

Indeed a place to put on your travel list and don't forget to bring sunscreen and your swimming gear to relax under the sun on the white sands of the beaches.

And That's All Friends.

I love this band of clouds over the mountain and along the top. The other cloud looks like it is climbing up to the signal station and the last one looks like a bridge of clouds - cool 🤩

That's too hot for me - I would prefer it being freezing cold and would wear gloves and a thick coat 😁

Thank you Hannes and yes, I also loved how that cloud approached the signal mountain. The flow was great to see.

Hot here my friend and today I couldn't even get out to take photos.
Tomorrow we are visiting the guy that restored that old red truck, as he has invited me to come and take photos of his old cars collection.
Maybe I could even get to drive one 😉

People are proud to show me their collections.

Cheers and thanks.

Been there and it was great to be inside his workshop my friend. And I have a nice story to go with it.
I didn't get to drive anything, but he will call and come and fetch me for a run 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Thank you and it was a great visit Hannes.
He lives in a complex that was built on a farm and he welcomed us very friendly.
I found many treasures there and posted the first story today.

I did the post in the photo lovers community via ecency and I think that I should rather start to post directly in the communities, as the value of my post is low.

Cheers and thanks.

I have seen thepost and that car looks amazing.

I don't know if it's better to use the community tag or to post directly there, but you can give it a try to see.

Thank you kindly 🙏

Yep, I tried to post directly right after we talked and no, it is for some reason even worse.
So I will rather stick to what I know.

Cheers and thanks.

I think it also depends on the people, maybe on the time when you post - no clue, to be honest. My posting time is 7pm, but for no reason. I used the afternoon for taking and editing photos and then most times I finished my posts right on time.

Tonight I posted the second post at 7:30 pm in Gems of all places. Trying something new Hannes.
Soon I will reach the target and then I will only do one post per day again.
They are unfortunately still taking money off my posts every day and at 7 days another lot is taken.

You have a good schedule and I will try to do something similar when I am back at 1 post per day.

Cheers and thanks.

As said, I have no idea where or when it's best to post, but I hope you'll be lucky and reach your target soon. Only one post per day will give you much more time to get out.

I don't understand what you mean by "they are unfortunately still taking money off my posts every day and at 7 days another lot is taken." but I also have never had a closer look on how the rewarding system works. I have heard there's something about the seventh day though.

Good news! I hit the target at 5 pm today. 50,000 HP done and dusted Hannes.
Now today I have already started only doing one post per day.

When the hive price drops then every day some HP is taken off some of my posts.
Then when the 2 posts get to 7 days for the payout, another cut is taken.
Watch your post when it gets to 7 days and let me know if the value is the same on 8 days.

Cheers and thanks.

Cool, that's great, Zac - congratulations 🎉

One day I will take the time and read all about the Hive rewards functions and how it works. And yes, I have noticed that the value changes with the Hive price, but I haven't had a closer look at it yet.

Thank you Hannes 😊

Yes, I find some of it strange as 3 or 4 times a day some cents are taken off a post and when the post gets to 7 days a bulk is taken off. I have had a few $80 posts drop down to $60 at pay out and I simply cannot understand it.
Maybe there's a fault somewhere?

Cheers and thanks.

I think it's all right - we just don't understand the system behing ... at least I don't understand it for sure.

I'm guessing people crossed those mountains long before the first settlers came by with wagons. I wonder what they looked like 500 million years ago?

Your thoughts are the same as mine. Apparently a nation called the Khoi-San were the very first and early residents of the area. I don't think there was any before them.
They must have crossed the mountains before the settlers arrived.
500 million years ago, Australia and South America were still a part of the African continent. Called Gondwana land at the time.
No idea what the mountains looked like then.

I forgot they were joined back then. I guess that makes sense on the westernside. Interesting to think you could cross those mountains and end up in Argentina.

Ha, at that times there were no humans around methinks.
But it is still amazing that all was once just one. I read an article where they explained how the plates below ground shifted and then the ocean forced its way in to split the continent.
Interesting that those plates were shifted upwards by the force of the water and they rose to form the mountains.

Correct says there are some places where beauty cannot be described in human language. I like these kind of mountain areas a lot more. The pleasure or feeling of watching the scenes from a distance is completely different. The mountains in particular and the clouds associated with it look amazing. You made a lot of beautiful photos and you must have enjoyed the place.

The place is right here my friend and yes, the mountains offer many pleasures when I can keep an eye on them. Close up is always better but like I said elsewhere it was late and the light was fading.
I do indeed enjoy all of nature.
