Grab the photos you can get and run.

But why the grab and run? Well, the weather waits for nobody as you will see in here.
095.jpg

I had to take as many photos as I could get, as the weather threatened me.

I think you know the rushed feeling to get things done before the skies with its water pregnant clouds start to deliver the baby rain drops.
The wind was the doctor initially, and it's when the wind subsides that one has to know that it will start to rain at any minute.
Thankfully I had about half an hour to do my thing with the camera.
So come and see.

This below was taken from the car as we approached the mountains.

And I took this photo at a public park on our way.
015.JPG

We are now slowly drifting into the Autumn (Fall) season.
073.JPG

A swallow made his way over and I was lucky to get him on camera.
018.JPG

This thirsty great Dane stood drinking at my favorite spot.
085.JPG

But he must have seen my face, as he decided that it would be in his best interest to move :)
081.JPG

A lovely reflection of a damselfly on a submerged heart shaped leaf.
089.JPG

These two were taking taking care of last minute business before the winter season arrives.
025.JPG

A Water Skate sat on the water here behind the damselfly.
116.JPG

Yeah, things were starting to get dark and I felt some drops of rain.
046.JPG

Suddenly the high winds were picking up again and it was a signal for us to leave.
105.JPG

And finally, this was the scene as we pulled the car into the garage back home.
079.JPG

I am happy that the weather at least allowed me to get a few photos and we are looking forward to much water coming down to fill our dams during the approaching winter season. The Southern Hemisphere is in summer when the Northern Hemisphere is in winter, and we don't have much snow here.
Floods and fires we have plenty of, but earthquakes and typhoons are a rarity here in South Africa.
We had a lovely summer period when on some days we felt like we were living in an oven during the high temperatures, but I personally prefer the Autumn, winter and spring seasons. As then we have mild weather.

On another note, Papillon has received a request for support from a school in a poor area and I will tell you more about it after we have replied to the request. Education is very important to us, as it prepares the children for a better future. So watch this space.

I hope that you enjoyed the story and the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

Your cover photo is awesome, the reflection is perfect. We call it a dragonfly here in the north, I have taken lots of pictures of them, I think they are so interesting to watch. They seem to like the water since they are always around at the pond.

The pix of the sky as that storm rolled in were menacing to just look at, it must be cool to outrun storms like that, thrilling.

As always, good stuff Zac

I will be looking out for your follow up with your charity work.

Be safe, stay well.

Thank you Lady Robin and we have two types of the Odanata family over here in South Africa.
First is the small Damselfly of the "Zygoptera" family, like the one seen here in my post and the Dragonfly family is called "Anisoptera". You are right as all of them are found near water.

🤣 LOLZ I love to feel the adrenaline pumping as I drive home in order to beat the first downwash. Most times I do, but sometimes the rain pulls a move on me and then I get drenched from head to toe 😊

You guys must also stay safe and my regards to the big guy 🙏

Hey @papilloncharity, thanks for the update on your project.

You amaze me with your knowledge of insects. Thanks for the info.

From the looks of those clouds, I can only image the downpour that followed.

Always nice to hear from you Zac.

Thank you @farm-mom and I will post some more information soon.

I just like to investigate my photography subjects and it's a pleasure to share whatever I discover about them.

The downpour has now changed into a soft fairy rain, and we had pleasantly cool temperatures today.

Thank you and I am still struggling with the power cuts over here. That's why I cannot comment on posts and only upvote them, as time is of the essence.

Thank you Adrian. My daughter called me on a video call from the UK this morning, to show me how she walks barefoot in the snow.

Glad that you are slowly going into the spring season and it's always a great time to be out and about in nature.
