Happy Friday shots for you today.

Some splendidly colored birds in the wild beauty of nature.

Now compare this photo above to the last photo in this post to see this bird's beautiful green colors.

Fridays are always good days to get the colors in nature, provided that it is not raining and the sun shines brightly.
We spent an hour here at this farm for a quick coffee and some photos.
Come and enjoy this short period with us.

A lovely day out in nature and nothing is better than enjoying the multitude of colors in the bright sun.

Caught the lovely little Southern Double-collared Sunbird on a flower.

This female Malachite was also enjoying her morning in the sun.

Here he is again (Double-collared Sunbird) amongst the colored old leaves of an oak tree, that will soon change to the green colors of Spring.
148.jpg

You saw this Malachite in the first photo, as the sun clothed him in turquoise colors, but here are his true colors,
188.jpg

We love the sun during the early parts of Spring as there is always a cool breeze blowing, and it makes outdoor visits very enjoyable.
The one thing that we don't like is the Summer hot temperatures of 40C+
That heat under the African sun can really sap a person's energy and it also creates a wheelbarrow full of sweat.

Specially when one has to attend a formal occasion dressed in the formal suit collar and tie. Before one speaks it feels like one is swimming in the suit and I am not a great fan of wearing a tie in the Summer heat.
Be that as it may, one has to do what one has to do.

And That's All Friends!

Thank you for these bright colors on this wonderful day of the week. In my hemisphere, it is already cold and gray autumn, with a cloudy sky, all the birds have flown to you. The great power of the Internet, allows me to get a little warmth from you! :)

Thank you and I do this every winter in the northern hemisphere, as some of my friends are up there in deep snow and I try to remind them of summer in the cold.
Glad that I could also bring you some warmth.

Have some homemade !PIZZA

By this do you mean you grudge this guy for his Double collared dress suit? He likes his bow tie I guess.
The female looks so coy here.

Ha, if I were to wear suits like I did for my formal working years, my suit will never have looked as good as this guy's. I would also have had many coy females after me hahaha.

I didn't know that Fridays are best for photographing colours, but looking through your beautiful photos you must be right Zac 😁
These are amazing colours you show here, my friend, and the Malachite's shiny colour, depending on how the sunlight falls on it, is always stunning 😀

(Edited)

Thank you Hannes and I got a trove of Sunbirds again today including the tate Amathyst sunbird.
Even saw a Skink lizard trying to catch a low flying dragonfly.

Maybe Spring Fridays love my camera 🤣

Here's one of the shots that I will post tomorrow about the sun's effects on the Malachite and it fascinates me, as the sun can also make him almost as black as the Amathyst, but the tail is different.

Cheers and thanks.

My daughter is waiting to pack the things in the car and drive ...

So I tell you in a few words that regardless of season or day, you are a lucky guy 😊

By now you have done the trip and I hope everything went well Hannes ?
So soon you and the wife will sit in an empty nest.

Now here's a plan, if you get an easier job, then you can start thinking about traveling, as now everything is changing ?
I just so wish that you already had the van, as on long weekends you could really get around far and wide.

But time and patience will work it all out.

Just one final wish for you. Don't take another job in your retirement years, as then you will sit anchored with work every day like we do now.
Thankfully it is work that we love.

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, we have come back home just before and everything went well.

Well, our son is still living with us and my daughter doesn't want to give up her room. So our apartment will always be full because my son's girlfriend is also living here most days.

There will not be an easier job, because I like jobs which need hard work, but maybe I can make the whole situation easier, but that depends on Monday.

When I retire my only job will be to enjoy life. Of course I will get a lot less money, but the Hive will still be an option 😉

Glad that it all went well.

Oh, I thought that you said that he was most times at the girlfriends house. So if he is still there with his girlfriend then you guys will be okay. Although nothing can replace a daughter, but you will get used to it in time. You have not parted with her forever and she will be back.

Like I said, Monday sounds interesting and I hope that your ideas will be accepted.

I wonder where we will all be in 5 years time. Catch myself thinking about it often, but all that I know is that everything is in God's hands and that is enough for me. He will also continue to take care of you.

Cheers and thanks.

You are right, in the beginning they stayed most times there but since a few weeks she is most times here.
As long as my daughter doesn't tell me I can have her room for my stuff she will not be gone 😉

In 5 years time I will smile and every day closer to my retirement I will smile more 😀

I think that it is good at this stage for them to stay by you guys, especially now that your daughter is gone for a while.

Best that you keep her bedroom just as is and please don't get any plans to sneak some of your stuff in there, as she might arrive suddenly and then the hairs will fly 🤣

Oh yes, that is certainly a dream and we will smile with you my friend.

Cheers and thanks.

One day both will be gone and our life will get a little more boring.
No, she can keep her room as long as she wants, of course.

That's my only dream at the moment.

Nope, your life will not get boring as life has a way to help us to adapt to the new circumstances.
You guys will become busy in your new lives and like your parents, you will also look forward to family visits.
Their is only three in our house Marian, Troy and me. I have not seen my children yet since we moved down here, but this December I will see only one, as my youngest daughter will come down.

A nice dream that we share with you.

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, that is certainly going to be a great experience for you and be prepared that one or more of the grandchildren will take after a certain mountain goat with the same habits 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

That's my biggest fear - that there will be more than only one mountain goat like me around 🤣

Amazing shots and I adore watching birds. Living on the sea we've such variety by the snowy egrets and blue herons that come for Summer then head to warmer climbs in Autumn hold a special place in my heart. Tho the gulls and terns are so constant. Lovely images @papilloncharity

Thank you and yes, we are also very near to the sea, as we live in a valley of bay surrounded with mountains at the back and the sea at the front.
It is now Spring season here and time for all of the migratory birds to arrive for the summer.
All of the birds that you mention plus many others will soon be all over again.

Blessings and have some !PIZZA
