It feels like the last days.

We have lots of rain here, but occasionally I can get lovely shots during breaks.

Greetings, I am back after our latest power cut. The power cuts are of great benefit as they allow us to get out every time that they happen. Good for one's health and sanity.

We are so lucky to be able to drive out and to go and enjoy nature when everybody else is moaning about no electricity. There is enough electricity in the skies to light up the whole world, but thus far the scientists have not managed to bridle it yet. I know that attempts were made to try and collar the power of a lightning bolt, but nothing could be found to effectively store so much power.
In my mind's eye, I see a battery the size of a city block with lightning arresters on the roof to charge the battery. Only a dream.
In any case, come and look at what I have in here.

So, there you have it as they are not the normal nature shots, but the stormy weather always delivers dramatic views.
We love nature and nature loves us right back, as it is always so great to be out there in the fresh mountain air.
I have posted a Harrier Hawk that I got at the same time as these photos and there was much more food for my camera, that I will post over time.
We also visited the ocean during the breaks and saw beautiful stormy seas.
For now, this is the best I have for you and I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

It would be quite something if they found a way of capturing the power of lightning. It would be very difficult to do.

Oh yes, there have been attempts in the past, but it was money wasted, as nothing can store that power.

Suddenly we have been having no power cuts as it may have something to do with being on the same grid as a hospital not that far away. At least it gets you out more and hopefully things will improve soon.

So strange as we are only 50 yards away from a hospital and at the beginning we also had no power cuts. But the border of our suburb is between us and the hospital and somehow they have isolated our suburb from the hospital's suburb. Now we get all of the power cuts.

One of the main reasons for our move is the noise of dense traffic and the blaring sirens of ambulances and emergency vehicles.
We certainly hope that things will start to happen with the power cuts as everything seems to be kaput nowadays. I saw that Denel is also in big trouble and they are auctioning their equipment via a quart order to try and pay outstanding salaries. Sacrilege.

Yes we have tough days, but there are those that have things much worse than us. Imagine having a house and a car, all on debt and suddenly you don't have a job anymore because your company has closed down because of the power cuts. So you lose everything and I think that it's terrible.

Yeah I can imagine..... but eish hope this power cuts will get over soon...... 2 time a day is more than enough.

Since we left Johannesburg, I have no wish to go up there again. Been to Margate many times and it is a great place. Sad to hear about your mom inlaw and hope that she will recuperate soonest.

I like the idea of such a huge battery that collects lightnings - would be good for awesome photos too.

That's the kind of landscape photography I love, Zac, these clouds look so cool. The last two shots are my favourites together with the first one ☺️

Good evening Hannes,

A pity that such a huge battery will never exist as the first lighting bolt that enters it will explode it.
I wonder how many Amps is in a lightning bolt?

We love so many of the same things my friend and I am glad that you liked the photos.
Thank you kindly 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Good morning Zac,

another late reply from me, but I didn't feel like going online yesterday. I have been out to take photos yesterday but I still didn't feel well and so I went home after taking a few photos of the misty morning. I then spent the rest of the day in bed and today I'm feeling a bit better.

They will have to find better solutions for energy than we have now before it's too late, and who knows what they already have developed secretly but don't show us because there's still much to earn with the other energy sources.

Hi Hannes,

I am glad that you at last got a bit of good rest and that photo is fantastic my friend 👍👍👍

Let's hope that your country is not thinking about getting an atomic electricity station as we have the only one on the African continent here and they cost a fortune to run and and maintain.
The lifetime of our station has now expired, but they want to extend it's lifetime by installing 6 new generators. It will cost billions and the station is not running running at full capacity at the moment.
So beware!

Cheers and thanks.

Hi Zac,

we have had two rainy nights but sunny days. On that morning there was a lot of mist in the valley and also on the mountains but the sky was clear and colorized by the morning sun. Thank you so much that you like that shot 😊

We have had an a nuclear power plant many years ago, but it didn't run for a long time until they shut it down again. It's still there and you can take a virtual tour if you want: https://www.zwentendorf.com/de/virtuelle-tour/index.html.

The weather can always enhance a photo my friend and the conditions was just right for that lovely photo 😊

Thank you for the link and I will take a tour tomorrow as we still have a lot of unpacking to do tonight.

Cheers and thanks.

Thanks again - it's always about the light. The right light can beautify and the wrong or no light can ruin a photo.

I don't know if the tour is really interesting, but the advantage of visiting that place in person would be that you don't have to take the full tour if it gets boring 🙃 !LOLZ
