Late afternoon heat photos.

A low dark incoming cloud drew us out of the house to take some photos.

Now see if you can see the sun and a bird in this lovely photo.

After the recent severe heat, we were all left a little bit lethargic and I have to say that it is the first time that I experienced such high temperatures. Yes, I have been to Namibia and it gets hot in the sand dunes over there and I have also been in other countries up in Africa where I ended up once in hospital with heatstroke, but even that was nothing to what we experienced here on Saturday, touching on 50C.

Thankfully now the temperatures have dropped a bit and we are at 28C today.

So there it was! The low cloud that called me to take some photos.

Perfect step in step as her right foot was lifted and Troy's right foot was also lifted.
Poor little guy struggled with the heat panting away and we decided to take him with us.

Right now let's have a look at the rest of the photos in here.

I see the habit lately in the top posts is to write in chapters with no description of each photo and I think that is a good idea, as each of us have a different view about any photo's content. So it pleases me to do the same as I also feel that a photo can tell a different story to each of us. Bear in mind when you look at the photos that we have just emerged from our hottest day in history and yet nature and the trees have endured the heat.

Yes, I know that we are fragile human beings, but we luckily have all of the modcons to shield us from the heat.
Imagine what it feels like to be dressed in a hot fireproof suit fighting the intense heat of wild fires coupled to the intense heat of the natural atmosphere. Our fire fighters are real heroes and they have already battled 64 fires in January month. The heat sparks off the fires and they are on permanent standby to save lives and property.
Great work that they do.

And That's All Friends!

Hope you don't suffer too much from the forest fires, that doesn't sound good. Here in the UK don't have such a big problem, though our heathland fires can be quite destructive; simply don't compare to what they have had across continental Europe and the rest of the world further down from there.

Sorry for the late reply, but this week has started upside down for us.
Yes I think that you guys in the UK will be okay and one major problem we have is that the country is so big. Thank fully we have a fleet of Helicopters that can dump huge bags of water on the fires, but once the wind takes a fire it can really run away across thousands of acres.
During the severe heat spells fires can jump up all over the show.

I'm happy to hear that the temperatures have dropped and you can go outside again, my friend 😀
The low cloud looks great. I hope the sand wasn't too hot for Troy's feet - great timing for the photo 👍

Thank you and glad now that you know I have managed to get out 😊

Yeah that was indeed a weird cloud and it was late afternoon, so the sand had cooled down enough for Troy. Just a luck to get the joint lift of their feet, as I only saw it when I downloaded the camera into the PC. 😉

Cheers and thanks.

You should knit shoes for Troy that he can walk in the hot sand too 😉
Sometimes the best shots happen unintentionally - great 👌

Hahaha, we can certainly knit shoes for him, but then you will have to come and put it on for him.
He hates anything on him and won't even wear a collar. So bring some plasters with for your fingers 🤣

Most times in my case 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Ok, forget the shoes, I need my crooked fingers 🤣

Many dogs here are used of shoes in winter when the roads and sidewalks are salted to get rid of the ice.

Now that makes sense as even the vets are careful when they touch him. I can of course ruffle him up and play-wrestle with him, but even Marian must be careful. I think that he sees her as an older sister 😉

Oh yes, I can understand that and it's a good thing for the dogs. Over here nothing like that is required as we have no need to salt the roads.

Cheers and thanks.

Our old cat hated the vet and her assistant wore thick gloves to hold him when she needed to touch him. An angry 12 kilo cat can be scary 😸

So the mountain goat went with his tiger to the vet.
This could be turned into a movie script 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Haha, it was so lovely when they held our raging cat with the gloves and I petted him with bare hands 🤣 !LOLZ

Oh yes, it always surprises them and I also like to be that when Troy stands snarling and growling at them. As we do it so nonchalantly, so like look at at me as I can tame lions 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Was just going to ask how you are surviving the heat .... then I read your line about the firefighters. Makes one think. Just when we feel we are melting bear those heroes in mind.
