Late afternoon views.

You will see some stunning colors in here, and that is all that I can say about it.

An easy introduction to the post, as one can only have so much to say about real beauty. So, come and take a look, as I will start with three earlier cloud shots, and one lovely sunset cloud. Then I will show the start of the sunset until its late completion. What I can say is that the direction of the wind was from the south, so it engaged with the northern wind and that was the cause of all of the cloud shapes.

As you look at the photos, the southern wind was flowing from the left of the pictures towards the right. I took all of the photos right here from the garden at the front of our house, and although it has limited views, I can see a large expanse of the sky, as there are no houses that block the views. Okay, enough said and let me have your thoughts about the content of the post.

This shot below is what I took during the latter part of the sunset, and I will show you how it started in the shot below this one.

Like I said, this was the start below, and I had to wait for the sun to sink behind an Acacia tree. You can see that I know the lay of the land and where to get the best views. It only takes a bit of practice.

Now watch that blue and yellow semi-circle of the cloud.

Boom! It expanded to create a fantastic view.

And later this yellow string of cloud was straightened up by the wind coming from the south, and it turned into a blissful view.

Yes, I waited for the cloud in the picture above to come over, and as it touched the top of that palm tree, I took the shot. Timing is essential during nature photography, and I get it right sometimes :)

Finally, you can see some dark invading the colors of the clouds, and I decided to call it a day. Finito.

I like to show the differences of the views during the seasons, as in summer all of these views will be much brighter and more in one's face, but winter has subdued colors and not that it is less effective than summer, it has its own special character. One would regard winter as a cold time with white skies and an abundance of snow, but not so as we have very little snow in winter here in Africa, and as you see in here winter also has lovely special colors.

A funny thing took place this afternoon, as all of a sudden, the doves took off from the trees and the roofs and everywhere. Now I know what that means, as one of them saw a predator bird and he sounded the alarm. I also knew what the predator bird was, as he has been active here for the last two weeks. A few minutes later the culprit came through, and it was the expected Sparrow Hawk. I had, maybe, half a second to take a shot of him that I will show you in another post.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

The sky is beautiful, and the clouds are also very interesting. Especially if you take a few angles of the clouds in the afternoon, they look cool and extraordinary.
