Let the sunshine in.

We are now gradually entering the Autumn (Fall) season and as we have winter rains, the clouds are promising some water soon.
067 (2).jpg

I will show you some dark morning shots and then the sunshine was let in.

At the end of the post is also a video of one of my favorite songs.
Our days can change in an instant, depending on the direction of the winds. Blowing from the north means rain, from the west means Atlantic Ocean mist, from the east means hot air and finally from the south comes what we call the fearsome "Cape Doctor". A wind so strong that it can blow you off your feet. Named as the cape doctor, as it blows Cape Town City free of litter and germs. Taking some uprooted trees and roof tops along with it.
Thankfully today we had a calm wind from the north, and it is said that it will pick up speed later in the day.
So come and see what I have for you.

You can see the color difference in the two shots below, as the sun was fighting to get through. Those are grape vineyards by the way.

070.JPG

The pied crows don't mind the weather, as they can fly in any except the harshest conditions.
083.JPG

Sadly, due to the light, I couldn't get the crow clearly, but the photo was still good enough to share.
087.JPG

Some subdued colors in this one below.
121.JPG

Right, enough of the dark stuff and now you will see how the afternoon lights up.

The sun broke through the stubborn clouds and the scenes started to come alive.
103.JPG

I am sure that the palm trees started clapping hands here below and look at their smiles :)
039.JPG

Occasionally, the clouds tried to block the sun, but they stood no chance.
009.JPG

Game on as this is what they were waiting for.
109.JPG

I took the first photo of a squirrel next to the road and this lady, eating some avocado below, was in our garden at home.

And finally, here is the promised video.

I love to share unusual pictures and I also love to have some fun here on Hive. Humor is a part of my nature and even now, closing in on my 6th year on hive, I am still not tired of writing my blogs. Hard work at times, especially when I don't feel too well, but persistence is the key to success. My mom used to say that whenever I take a hold of something, then I simply don't let go like a bulldog. Unless when I lose interest in something, then I simply drop it and walk away.

At times I have reached some highs on hive, won some competitions, although I don't like competitions and I have also scored some other highs. All of it through hard work, as if one is not prepared to work hard at something, whatever it is, then one should rather not start it. No use to start something and to want instant success, as that will result in failure.
We see it so often these days as it appears that nowadays there is this new thing called entitlement. I am owed and life owes me is a fallacy that doesn't exist. Nobody owes anybody anything and we all have to be prepared to make our own way in life through our daily efforts.
Be it what it may.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

And That's All Friends.

You know I love such dark dramatic clouds, but when they make place for some sunshine I love it too ... both at the same time would be best 😁
Maybe the squirrel lady will take her family and move in your garden - wouldn't that be nice?

And a beautiful song followed by wise words make this post another great addition to your blog, my friend 🌞

Yes I do know and the sunshine was a nice blend later on. Difficult to get both at the same time, as the clouds run away when they see the sun is on its way 😉
This is what we are hoping for and that's why we place the nuts in a safe spot for her to eat. If she knows that it is safe, then she will hopefully bring the babies to come and eat. So let's wait and see 🙏

Thank you for the kind compliment Hannes and blessings to you guys.

Cheers and thanks.

But sometimes the clouds stay and open little windows for the sunrays to lit up small patches of the land below 😀

I hope that the little lady will soon realize that her family will have a safe life in your garden and best friends in you two guys.

You're most welcome, my friend 😊

Oh yes, you are right and sometimes the sun can peep through the clouds to light up a mountain range.
Like this.

Yeah thanks and I keep on watching the garden every day to see if it will happen 🙏

You are a kind man my friend!

Cheers and thanks.

Glad that you liked the image Hannes 🙏

She was here again this afternoon and we had the nuts ready for her. So things are looking good at this stage of the proceedings. Seems like we will start the squirrel events at the old house all over again 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Oh she's lovely and I am sure she will tell her family that she has found a safe new home 😊
There will be squirrels all around in the garden soon - I knew they will find you 😀

We seriously hope so my friend and she seems to have accepted me watching her here now below my window 😊 !LOLZ

Marian collects the acorns for her under the oak trees and she also has avocado and peanuts.
So yes, things are looking good at this stage 🙏

Cheers and thanks.

Surprisingly she was here again today and she knows that I am at the window.
So things are starting to look good. Oh, and the neighbors will start to complain again about "our" squirrel planting peanut bushes in their gardens 🤣 !LOLZ

Oh, that nut was so good that she closed her eyes.

Hey! She said. What are you looking at? Can a lady not enjoy her meal?

Cheers and thanks.

I said that she's a lovely girl and this is still my opinion - she looks so nice and she's starting to trust you, my friend 😊
The neighbors should pay you some money for the work that your squirrel does by planting peanut bushes in their gardens 🤣 !LOLZ

I will tell her that you say she is lovely and I am sure that she will like it 😉

Now that's a good idea, as the neighbors can all combine to stash their peanut crops together and then they can establish a small business selling peanuts and peanut butter 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

And I said it again in the other comment when I saw the photos and the video of her 🤣 !LOLZ

They can make a small business but pay you a big percentage of their profits, of course, because your squirrels to most of the work by planting the peanut bushes 😉 !LOLZ

And I said a "Thank you Hannes" again in the other comment and now here again 🤣 !LOLZ

I wonder if I can charge the same labor fees as the human farm laborers for each squirrel. Maybe something to think about, and if they complain that the squirrels are animals, then I can tell them that the squirrels don't take breaks, so they do double the work and they also require no pension funding. They also don't have to pay taxes for the squirrels. A win-win methinks 😜 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

And you could tell them that they can sell the peanuts for a much higher price because they were planted by free living squirrels ... or so 🤣 !LOLZ

Nah! They must sell the peanuts at a cheaper price in order to draw the masses my friend.
I had some advice years ago regarding the pricing of goods as when one sells an item at a big price that very few can afford, then one's clientele will be a small and restricted base.
But when one sells an item at a low price then the client base can consist of millions.
So, 2 cents for 1 peanut that the shops sell at 20 cents per peanut will work like a charm 😁 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I would prefer to sell one peanut for 10,000 dollars than 10,000 peanuts for 1 dollar each ... much less work - the government worker in me is speaking 🤣 !LOLZ

Yes, it certainly seems like that as even the ones that clean the roads here are having paid sleep on the grass patches on the sidewalks. In the daylight!
As long as you don't get guilty nightmares during the paid sleep, then the hard work to get it is always rewarded 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

40 years! I am shocked and I think that even you will be astounded when you add up all of the sleeping hours over the years. Shocking indeed 😁 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

A quick calculation: 4 nightshifts a month at 8 hours of sleep each (that's only theoretically if nothing happens, of course) gives 15,360 hours in 40 years. That's 640 days of paid sleeping 🤣 !LOLZ

🤣 !LOLZ, That's almost 2 years of paid sleep work. A very special bonus that they don't even know about.

Talking about this, I read in the knew that a company deducted a huge chunk of money from a worker upon his retirement. He used to pop out for a smoke several times a day and they inspected his clock card to see how many times he went outside for a smoke. Then they applied the mathematics like you did and they deducted the money. Lucky for you that you don't have to log your sleeping hours 😉

Cheers and thanks.

I haven't counted that before and it really sounds weird to me, but I can asure you that it's not that much in reality because 8 hours of sleep I don't even get at home 😂 !LOLZ

There are companies here where you have to log out when you go smoking and then log in again. The smoking time will not be paid. In my company even this time will be paid, so, if I did still smoke you could count some more months to the 2 years of paid sleep 😉

Well, then I can say that you sleep more at work than at home and that's seriously funny 🤣 !LOLZ

As you don't go out to smoke, that adds even more to your sleeping time. I hope that you don't have to clock out before you sleep 🤣🤣🤣

Cheers and thanks.

I once worked at a place where the manager was timing his staff's toilet visits. He was a real slave driver, that should never have been made a manager.
So you are a lucky goat that you don't have a boss like that 😮

Cheers and thanks.
