Look how the little cuties cope on a cool day.

We have very strange weather here these last days, as one day it would be summer and the next day winter. It was only a winter's day to borrow the lyrics of a song to describe the day, as tomorrow it will be summer again.

Cuddled close together to keep warm. They say that two is a pair and 3 is a crowd :)

I tried to get all 10 of the goslings in their separate groupings to show you how cute they are. They remembered how nice and warm they were after birth when all 10 of them huddled together. But now as they got bigger, they started to pair themselves with each that had a similar world view :)
Only joking as I don't know why they split up into small groups, but it is very similar to our human lives.
Then I also have a juvenile Robin in here and he was very glad to see us, as he knows what my wife has for him.

Did I tell you that it was a cold day?

I love to see how they push their little crops out in the cold. All fluffy and feathery!

This little one below was the outsider, as he was standing and sleeping all on his own.

Hey guys, I am glad that you came as it's cold today. I hope that your wife brought me some biscuits?

I told the young robin that my wife has already put the biscuits out for him, and he jumped on the table to have a look.

Bingo, and he was very happy.

A bit later, the sun started to make an appearance,

And finally, the Egyptian goose mom arrived to wake the babies for supper.

Wonderful if one can look at the ways of Mother nature's residents. We are thankful that there are still 10 goslings and if they take care to not appear in the open, then the buzzards and other big predator birds have no chance of collecting them. Still a while, maybe a month or so, then they will be strong enough to fly and then they will all disappear. I have the habit of looking for similarities between nature's residents and our human lives, and I can tell you that there are many similarities. One just has to look and learn. In the days, long past, nature was used to guide the early explorers and the indigent folks, learning from nature how to preserve their food and to handle difficult conditions. Mud huts were built the same as some animals and birds do, and there are many other similarities.

I hope you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

When nature changes suddenly these little ones have to plan quickly how to survive under different conditions. Lovely captures of them in a huddle together.

I think it's the best way to grow up, always against the odds. Made us conquerors.

Oh yes, even if we cry at times, later on we start to realize that it was all valuable lessons.

Thank you and they have to go through these periods to prepare them for the bad storms. We live in the Cape of storms and many worse storms will come their way. Glad that you liked the story.

Too adorable! My favourite is the shot of the two together. I don't blame them for cuddling. It is freezing here! Last week we had fans on and no sheets. This week feather duvets. So wierd

Thank you and yes, everyone is discussing the weather and I don't know about you guys, but for the past 3 days, we have been having very strong winds again. I presume that's the reason why they have storms up in Gauteng and in KZN.

We had bad winds over the weekend yes. Usually I can warn my brother in PTA; it's on the way!

Oh yeah, I suppose that if it's bad here, then it will also be bad there.
Now that we live down here, I can understand why the people in Gauteng always blame the Cape for their bad weather !LOL
!PIZZA and !LUV to you guys.

Thank you Lady Neli and we love the little cuties. There is constant movement by people on the farm and I think that's what kept the predator birds away.
That little Robin will soon blossom into a beautiful adult and they know my wife, as she feeds them !LOLZ
