Lovely South African birds.

I have a variety of birds to show you in here and hope that you will like the colors.
043 (2).jpg

From small to big they are all beautiful birds endemic to this county and I have arranged the photos according to the birds sizes.

I wanted to place the Jackal Rapture photo first, but then decided to rather place the birds according to their sizes.
All of the photos were taken at a new place that we visited during the power cut time. We now have three power cuts per day, 2am, 10am, and 6pm. For two-and-a-half hours each and it plays real havoc in the country.
I think that criminals have a feast when the power cuts take place at night, and better for all of us if it is done during the day.
But that still offers no solace to the people or the economy.
I digress and please come watch the show.

Here we have a little Cape White-eye.

This guy is a Southern Masked Weaver.

I caught a singing (one note) Malachite in action.

This was a Jackal Buzzard cruising and scouting for prey.

And finally the biggest birds, a trio of white geese that are foreign and not local.

Like I have told you many times before, we have a very wide variety of bird species in the country. During winter it is normally the locals that stay and we also have a large variety of the stayers.
Some of what we call exotic bird species migrate to warmer climates, and yet others come here to breed in winter.
This is just a sample of what we have here, and I was happy to see them and to get them on camera to show you.

And That's All Friends.

Same here in my early childhood until we were taken to the big city. Now once again out in the open I realize every day how I hated the confinement in the city. Never again as I plan to die out here.

It really is all about finding a place where one is able to walk without continuously looking over ones shoulder, life in suburbs has become intolerable.

They reckon much worse is to come and yes the suburbs are going to become battle fields.
Time for us to get out.

For some reason I feel uncomfortable about the reasons that are being forward for the shebeen murders. I don't think that it's tribal clashes, or due to xenophobia, but we will wait for the truth to emerge.

Something else at play here, I agree wait to see if truth ever emerges.

The high life at the top end and the low life at the bottom end. Today another tavern shooting in Pretoria.
Something else indeed.

Both the age of children in taverns and shooting sprees are not encouraging, no reason for shootings, no parenting or proper control at shabeens.

Never have been controlled as far back as I can remember and there have always been trouble at shebeens. Now it is just getting worse.
