Papillon's work with partners.

(Edited)

Our latest new partner on show here and it was such a pleasure to see the happy faces.
001.jpg

A happy crowd and the laborers in the community garden are all unemployed people. The garden has 18 volunteer garden workers, and some community members also work here as volunteers.

They did not expect our arrival and were over the moon with the goods that we donated. Every Tuesday is harvesting day at the community garden and the public also come here to buy fresh organic vegetables. There are many unemployed people in the area and the community garden donates food to them. We received a request for clothing for the volunteers that work in the garden and fortunately Papillon also supports another non-profit called the Rape Crisis Center. Now what you may ask does the rape center have to do with the community garden?

Well, the rape center has a charity shop that the public supports by donating clothing to the shop. We contacted the CEO of the rape center for help, and we handed her a list of clothing sizes for the garden workers.
They wanted mainly T-shirts, trousers and takkies. So yesterday we went to the rape center to collect the clothing and we took it to the community garden. Oh, we were so happy, as the one bag contained new T-shirts.
But I talk too much and let's see the action.

They did not expect our visit and I took some photos of the workers in action.
056.JPG

A lady appeared with two watering cans and I decided to track her moves.
There was also a guy with two cans at the right hand of the photo.
002.JPG

012.JPG

Ah! Watch how the guy was watering the vegetable bed.
023.JPG

And then then were two watering the vegetable beds.
The water was taken from a large rain water collection tank.
035.JPG

Look at this rich haul of spinach at the front and cabbage behind it.
017.JPG

Healthy food makes for healthy minds and bodies.
005.JPG

They have many kinds of vegetables here at the community garden, stuff like carrots, beetroots, pumpkins, broccoli, kale and many other varieties.
Not only are the vegetables healthy, but they also ensure a much better quality of food for the hungry that do not have the money to buy vegetables.

So, we hit two birds with one stone, as we support the rape crisis center financially and also with used clothing for their charity shop. Now we also support the community garden by linking the two non-profits together and we will continue to make connections between non-profits to try to fill their needs and to source more items that are required by each non-profit.
The days of isolated little non-profits that struggle alone are gone, as the time is now, in this present day that we must live for each other. We are in the process of weaving a tapestry of non-profits together.

Together we can do so much more to help the needy in our communities.

Note: To all of the South Africans in Cape Town and to tourists that plan to come here, please pay a visit to the Community Garden in Somerset West. They really need the support.

I hope that you enjoyed the story and the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

Oh yes, we call it dignity restoration and the volunteers get token, that they can hand in at a shelter in order to take a shower and a bed for the night. The community garden is a perfect idea and it is very well managed. We will continue to support them.

Thank you for the tipu.

Working together with the same goal is always a great idea and even better when the goal is to help poor people. One can help another with knowledge and things the other may not have.

I'm happy that you could make some people happy, my friend 👍😊

Good evening Hannes,

If we can't do it alone, then we combine with others and Papillon plays a supporting role. We do this under our "Distribution Project" and it is always so great to see the smiles of those that we help. We have delivered tons of goods over the years and now we aim on doing the same over here. Of course, the non profits that we support also need the help and it makes us happy to support their work.

Thank you and the aim is to make everybody involved happy.

Blessings to you guys.

Good evening Zac,

I used to belong to the people who prefer to work alone and never ask for help, but that has changed in the past years and now I often appreciate the help of others. On the other hand, my colleagues know that I'm always there for help.

By the way, I think I haven't said anything about your new profile image yet - I like it a lot and always when I see it, it reminds me that I have to photograph a dragonfly 😉 !LOLZ

Good afternoon Hannes,

I had my first long 12 hour sleep last night after a very long time. The new pills took all of the pain away, but when I woke up this morning, it took me about 3 hours to shake the wooziness off.
Great to see that you have also learned how important help is, as that is a great way to go through life.

Hahaha, you know that Papillon is the French word for butterfly, but all that I had was a photo of a little dragonfly. So I know that you desperately want to take a photo of one and when you do, then you can also put it up as your profile picture 😜 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Good afternoon Zac,

we've come home earlier today. My son's car gets repaired later and I think I'll go offline by then. So, I'm replying now while having lunch, it's just some pasta ... noodles with a tomatoe sauce 😋
Tomorrow I want to make a photo trip to the north and hopefully find some frozen waterfalls ❄️

I'm so happy that you've found some sleep 😀 12 hours seem much but after a couple of days with no sleep you really needed this time, I believe.
Now you know how I feel after many hours of sleeping at work ... woozy 🤣 !LOLZ

My help can't be compared with the help you're doing every day, but it feels good when someone smiles and thanks me 😊

Yep, I know what Papillon means but I like this little dragonfly and who know, maybe soon I'll also have one as my profile image 😉

Good evening Hannes,

so does this mean that you guys received the new master cylinder? Then by now his car is fixed and his mom can have her car back 😉
I really hope that you found some frozen waterfalls, as they make for such nice pictures.

Thank you and last night was bad again, but I am not complaining. I wish that I had your job, as senior police officers in Austria have things so comfy 😜 !LOLZ

Hannes, there is a big difference between charity work and police work, but as I read it, you are a shining light in your division and that's how things should be methinks 😊

All that you need to do is to ask Mother nature kindly and I am sure that she will give you a beautiful dragonfly to take a photo of 🤞

Cheers and thanks.

Good evening Zac,

yep, it was the cylinder, he has got his car back and is already on the road again 😀

It was a nice hike today and there were some small waterfalls. I didn't take many photos, and this is one

I hope tonight will be a better night for you 🙏
Well, when we have some kind of bad pain that doesn't let us sleep during work, it isn't comfy at all 🤣 !LOLZ

Thanks, but I think my words make me seem to be better than I really am 😉

In a few months it will be Spring again and by then I'll start asking Mother Nature as kindly as possible 😊

Good afternoon Hannes,

Great and I am sure that he is very happy again, now that the car is fixed 😊

This is such a magnificent photo and I felt myself sitting on a rock and watching the little falls. Marian also likes it a lot 😀

Hahaha, I hope that you don't have many of those bad pains that interferes with your sleeping schedule at work 😜 !LOLZ
For the first time in years I decided to sleep on the floor last night. My wife would not hear of me sleeping alone on the floor and so we slept on the floor. The hard surface is good for back and hip pain and this morning it was better, but I still felt a few stings in my right calve.
I hate being filled up in my head by all of the tablets, as I go into a trance a few times in the day. They call it "clutching out" and I can just sit and stare at nothing 😟

Nah! You are just an Austrian mountain goat with good manners 🤣 !LOLZ

Oh yes, Mother nature loves kind appeals, and I am sure that she will gift you something 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Good evening Zac,

oh yes, he is happy, and I do hope that the car doesn't make problems for a while🤞

Thanks a million, my friend, I am working on a post for tonight where I will post this image too.

Haha, I also hope that my sleeping plans don't get interrupted to many times - it's annoying when you earn your money while you sleep and you can't sleep 🤣 !LOLZ

Wow, your wife really loves you a lot - mine wouldn't sleep with me on the floor, but sh would take care that it's cozy for me 😉
I'm glad that after the night on the hard floor you're feeling better and hope it will get even better tonight.

Once a while ago, I have had real bad toothache and took a pill my wife gave me. Because I had not taken any pills in years, the pain had gone almost at once and I felt like on drugs ... I liked it somehow 😅

Yep, I hope that Mother Nature will listen to me when I am asking very kindly 😊

Hope you two guys have had a nice Sunday, my friend 😀

One never knows when it comes to cars my friend, as they have a mind of their own. So if they find a gap, then they also want to sleep at work like some mountain goat that I know 🤣 !LOLZ

Easy to fix, as I simply go and sit outside at 2am and I wait for the message from my eyes that they want to close. Then I return to the bed and give sleeping a go again. The money is thankfully not in my thoughts 😉

She suddenly comes with the excuse that she also has some pains and maybe by sleeping on the floor her pains will go away. I know that she just wants to be with me and it is so good to know 😊
The new pills are helping a lot and it's not so bad anymore my friend and thank you for the care.

Hahaha, maybe that pill that your wife gave you was called ecstasy, or cat, as those are the pills that the druggies take here 😜

We shall see what we will see and if it's a dragonfly we will both be happy 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

I have had such a car many years ago - it always wanted to sleep when it started to rain and often it fell asleep in the middle of a crossing 😂 !LOLZ

If it was that easy whenI wake up at night, but I usually fall asleep again shortly before I have to get up 😅

As I said: she's a good wife and you're very lucky, my friend 😊

Haha, the pill was even an old one, way after the expiration date 🤣

It will be a huge beautiful dragonfly, you'll see 😀

Ah, so you know about those cars and maybe your one taught you the important lesson of sleeping on the job 🤣 !LOLZ

Hahaha, I didn't expect you to have the same problem with your addiction to sleep 😜

She said that I must thank you for the compliment ❤️

Oh my goodness, drinking pills beyond their expiry date is a no,no my friend as it can drop you into such a deep sleep that you can sleep for many years, the same as Rip van Winkel 😮

I am sure that it will be big, maybe the size of an ant, as things don't grow big in Austria 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Sleeping in the middle of a street crossing? It was an Italian car, so maybe for the Italians sleeping on a crossroad might be normal 😂 !LOLZ

The pleasure is all mine 😊

Maybe I'll sleep for 4 years and when I wake up I'm already retired 😉

As big as an ant? Wow, that's huge. I hope it will not attack me 😨

Now Hannes, I have to be patient with you. The car fell asleep on the job, so you learned to also sleep on the job, comprehendo amigo? 🤣 !LOLZ

Hahaha, that fella fell asleep for something like 20 years. Now you know your luck and methinks that you could awake maybe 30 years later? 😉

It seems that nothing grows big in Austria and I also think it is because of the snow 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Oh, I didn't see it that way - maybe you're right and I learned it from the car. That's funny because all other government workers must have had the same type of car 😂

Wow, when I wake up in 30 years I'll almost be 90 - I think I would lay right back down and sleep again 😁 !LOLZ

Our mountains grow big and when it snows they are even higher 😉

I have just done a quick search and found these, but I don't know how the brands are related. Some foreign brands let their cars or parts of them build here. KTM, Puch, Denzel and Daimler are Austrian for sure.

Oh yes, some car brands allow other countries to even assemble and export their cars. We have Ford and Toyota car assembly plants over here. I think also Volkswagen. But we don't have our cars here.
Daimler is a well known brand here and I think Puch was around in the 60s but not anymore.

Cheers and thanks.

I got this nice babe in a parking lot today.

It is called an MG Roadster and I would so like to take this for a Sunday drive 😉 !LOLZ
