Playing tricks on me again.

I seem to have a hide and seek relationship with this little squirrel lately.
Let me first show you how she drinks water on this hot day.

There are many games, and then there are also live games. I prefer the latter.

This is the same squirrel that I posted about a short while ago, where she hid high up in a tree under the lens of my camera. I missed her drinking from the pond the last time, but this time I was quick enough to get her acrobatic, yoga-like moves to get those refreshing mouthfuls of water.

Back here at the ponds, looking for dragonflies, sunbirds, frogs, squirrels, and anything ready to enjoy the sunshine.
Unfortunately, on many farms, there is a very evident decline in butterflies, bees, dragonflies, and other insects. And lately we have noticed a decline in squirrels. Maybe it is the heat. We hope to see them all about again soon.

So, this little squirrel was a real treasure that we found.

Here above was her approach to the water and this time I was ready for her.

Now this yoga drinking exercise looks a bit too difficult for me to try, as I would need a chiropractor afterwards :)

Oh yes, she saw me, and the game was on.

Warily, she moved away, jogging towards a tree.

Now look at that sprawl! Did she really think that I couldn't see her? So, I made sure that she could see me approaching, and she decided to look for another hiding place.

Very inventive this young lady, as she tried to melt her body into the shape of the tree.

Finally, I decided to stop teasing her, and we went to have some coffee.

Oh, the joys of nature and the creatures that make each day worthwhile. Every new day is a gift, and a gift that we do not deserve as human beings. We truly need to wake up grateful and humble, embracing the newness, but being ready to tackle the bad and hoping for the good. But knowing that whichever presents itself, we will overcome because our Mighty Creator helps us to live in power and strength. Not to glorify ourselves, not to help ourselves. Life is one of outpouring, of grace-filled thankfulness for all that each day has in store for us.
May we not miss this opportunity, and may we not turn each day into a selfish, greed-filled one. May our hearts be made more generous and grateful.
A blessed day and weekend ahead for all of you and yours.

I hope you have enjoyed the fun I had playing with the squirrel and the pictures.

I saw a squirrel taking a drink out of a puddle once. I just wasn't quick enough to get a photo. I don’t think I will ever come to terms with missing it lol.

Shame, yes, I don't think that there is any photographer that has not missed one or another fantastic shot. But take heart, as there are always other great chances. !LOL and !PIZZA
