Playing with the two ends of a rainbow.

I can never figure out which side of a rainbow is the start and which side is the end :)
232.jpg

But with luck (patience), I could get some birds crossing in the colors.

We have all seen pictures of aspirant rainbow starts and I decided to do something different. My zoom worked overtime, as I wanted to add some of Mother nature's art into the pictures. An icy wind and low light at times made things a bit difficult at times, as it is winter here now and I think that the strong winds take a great pleasure in whipping me around.
But be it as it may, I think that the pictures did not come out so badly.
You can tell me below if you agree that the pictures were okay for sharing.

The birds flew with loud calls that I could even hear at a distance. They were four Hadeda Ibis birds, and many people hate their calls early mornings when they wake them up :)

A lovely shot here that I took over a pear orchid at the bottom front.

How's this below for timing?. I waited for the bird to fly over the tip of the rainbow.

Right, now here was the other end of the rainbow.

And a closer shot of the picture above.

Just another picture of the left-hand side of the rainbow, as that cloud drifted over it.

And finally, this was the distance from where I took the photos. You can see that the rainbow had nothing in between its two legs :)

Here to end the post is a lovely old giant oak tree showing off its stark winter colors. The sun was hiding behind the tree :)

I was so hoping that the clouds would fill up the empty space between the two legs of the rainbow, but not to be and the one thing that I know, is that I will get a full rainbow still during this winter period. Earlier, in-between the cloudy times we rush out to go and sit in the weak sun, but as soon as one starts to feel warm a cloud floats over the sun and it sprinkles us with fairy rain. Fortunately, it keeps most of the people indoors, and it is only the hardy nature souls that drift around outdoors.
To have all of this to one's self, is a very precious gift.
Not that I am selfish, but I feel more at peace when I am alone in nature. A person needs these periods to reflect and to release the stresses of life. The beauty also strokes one's soul.

And That's All Friends.

I love your shots of the rainbow. With that, I suddenly remember an old folktale saying that in each end of the rainbow, there's a hidden treasure.

So interesting. Marian sang this song when she was editing this post and she mentioned something about some wizard. Now you have started something, as dumb me called her to listen to this song in your reply and I will have to listen to a 4 or 5 hour explanation of the movie. Woe is me :)

Movie we saw as children, great times with the old reels clicking away in the background.

Later in our early twenties enjoyed live stage show in Johannesburg where I think this number featured in the "Wizard Of Oz" performance.

Songs that stir memories, not so? !LUV to you both, cold and wet in Durban today!

Oh yes, I remember those old big reel machines. We didn't have one, but if I was a good boy during the week and have done all of my chores, then I could go to the local movie house on a Saturday afternoon.

I am sure that you enjoyed those live performances, as you still remember them.

Yep! Songs can be the triggers for many fond memories and also many sad ones.

!LUV also to you guys my friend and glad that you have good temperatures.

We watched shows when very young at the Scout Hall with one parent owning a rig onto a white sheet.... Yup movie house when we could afford it at teenagers, fair walk to get there too.

Live performances nothing can replace, worth every penny when your realize the amount of work that goes toward each show.

Songs bring about a magic memory each time for different reasons over the years.

!LUV to the Cape we had the storms yesterday Yikes!

I forget, as once in Pietersburg and uncle also had one of those projectors, and he also showed us some movie on a white sheet in the lounge. All that I remember is the clackity sound that the spinning reels made. Same experience as yours and I hated the times when I was grounded. My friends would tell me about the great movie that they saw and it never felt good 😉 !LOLZ

Funny thing is that although I acted in a live performance once in high school, I have never seen a live performance to this day. The closest that I came to a live performance was the battle of the bands at the old Milpark show grounds.

Yep! Songs do indeed do that.

Maybe you guys are in a competition with us regarding the stormy weather 😊

Never had much financially yet had lots of fun, gained experience in many things having to do for ourselves.

Live bands at various venues, ballet, symphony concerts, ice shows, plays, we enjoyed more in teenage/early twenties years. Movies in many central Johannesburg and suburban cinemas to view.

It's when I read this that I realize how much about us and life has changed.
Nowadays the youngsters build up memories of what was said and what was seen on the phones.

The old carefree and inventive life is gone, almost as if it never existed. Closed chapters in our books of life. The new chapters that we are now in, have more suffering and angst in them than in our entire young existence.
Such is life.

Nice shots. It's been a long time since I've had some proper rainbow pics... I guess we didn't had a proper rainbow in here in a while, that's why.
