Seasons in the sun.

Our little Troy died last night and our emotions were ripped apart.

Marian heard a commotion at his box and it was a shocking sight, so we rushed him to an emergency center at 12:30pm.

Been with us since pup and he was an integral part of our lives, so I decided to do a post as a final farewell to him. We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons of the sun and now it has all ended. Simply amazing how we can form a close bond with an animal, learning their tricks and the process of becoming one with them. And then now, the house is empty and there are tears everywhere.

Yes, he was 17 years old and started to lose his sight a while ago.

Wherever I would potter around the house, you can be sure that he will be there.

He would always sulk when Marian played with the squirrels.

Been with us through a heavy flood and everywhere else that we traveled, even through the Covid period.

Right at my feet whenever I worked on this PC.

Bath times were always an adventure with this little guy.

No more morning bark to wake us, no more evening rub and song before his bedtime and yes, we are battling. Our little family member has departed to the happy doggy fields of eternity and I have a tear in my eye writing this. The only way that I can think of it is that we all have to go that way and I am glad that we could give him a very good life.

Not often that I post a sad post but writing this made me feel a bit better.

After a long healthy happy life Troy now moves on, your hearts will be filled with sadness now, yet many smiles will follow when remembering him. Seventeen years is an amazing age for a furry friend.

He was a part of us Lady Joan and yes, things are a bit upside down here, but I think that it's the shock.
The memories will last forever and I am just glad that he had a very good life. An old guy, but he was always my boy.

A little woolly bundle came up to me for a tummy rub today and for the time being I will only play with doggies of other people. She is a miniature Schnauzer.

Who knows? Maybe she felt my pain.

Oh My, I'm so sorry about Troy. Losing a pet that you consider a bestfriend and family is very hard. I know for sure he enjoyed his time with you all and for sure too, he left this world happily because of you, his family. He's in pet wonderland now 🥺❤️.

A very sad period now in our lives and yes, we know that he has gone to much better place.
Time is a healer as I saw all of my family depart, so this is how life works
We are all only on journey in this gift that we call life.

Oh, that's not what I was expecting to read in this post.

I still remember when our cat died who has been a beloved family member for many years and so I know how you must feel and I feel so sorry for you two guys - he may be gone, but never forgotten.

Sad and so suddenly Hannes. He as normal waited for me to come out of the shower so that he could lick the water on my leg. Then he came for his rub and his good night song, went to his box and then he was almost gone. At the doctors place I held his little head in my hand and he made a small cry. I can still hear that cry even now!

You know what I am talking about and it's not easy to make this grown man cry.

At least it has gone fast and you could say good bye to Troy - our cat Whiskey was dead when we came home and we believe it was a painful dead. I still shiver and feel so sad when I think of his lonely painful death.

Making a man like you cry is not easy and should not happen.

You are right and I am glad that we could say farewell to him.
Shame it's a pity that Whiskey had no one there, but you can't blame yourself, as you were occupied.
Now Whiskey will not remember the pain anymore as he is happy in cat heaven.
