Seems there was a red and white craze in the 60s

Known as the hippie years and I am glad that I was alive in those years of total freedom.

Look how nice this old Citroen car's colors matches the shop sign above :)

A Happy Sunday to all and we are late for a meeting, but I have to do this first. Now this is no longer the 60's, but I discovered two relics today of those years that brought back fond memories, including multi colored cars, to my mind. We were rash and had much fun, and of course some of the greatest music was done during that time. Long hair and bell-bottom pants were in vogue and so many smoked happy twak (marijuana).
It was a wonderful time of freedom and Woodstock is remembered by so many to this day.
Come and see the two original cars.

First up, is a little Citroen and I think I told you the cars were in original condition.

And here we have a Volkswagen Beetle, also in a red and white setting, and also original.

Amazing, isn't it. Now in the year 2022 to see the cars that brought so many happy memories to us. I was so lucky to find these two examples in two different places, and I wonder how many more of them are still running around. We still have many of the old cars on our roads here, and I have posted some before. Even a truck from the 20's and I will continue to post others as I encounter them.
Do you perhaps have a red and white car in original condition that you want to show us?

So glad that I could get this, and I hope you have enjoyed the photos.

And That's All Friends.

We didn't have phones, were always out chatting with friends. 'Modern" cars of yesteryear excitement seeing then with fewer on the roads, my parents not affording one in the '60's.

Two lovely cars you found there!

Hahaha, I still don't have a phone or a watch Lady Joan.

We also didn't have a car in the 60s, but yes these cars were all over in those days. Every second person had a Beetle. Then VW canned it and they made a very big mistake by launching a new Beetle that everyone called a frog car.

Thank you and glad that you also liked the cars.

May you guys have a good new week!

Aha we referred to them as the bug..., not the best weekend learning of a friend in the Cape passing after a stroke a week earlier, then down run for Comrades yesterday our neighbour died in Westville Hospital after being airlifted from outside Pinetown.

Superbly young fit man in early forties, waited three/four years with two years cancelled he eventually started in "B" grouping on the day. What a shock late yesterday learning he passed away, still in shock! His lovely wife is my younger sons age we were chatting over the wall on Saturday as to how excited they were.

Never count on tomorrow!

Yep and we used to play the game of "slug bug"

Some very bad news here Lady Joan and it always catches us totally unprepared.
I think that the Covid hiatus created many future problems for some. A friend of mine also have what they call long term Covid and it affects him to this day. But he has to stay strong for his kids sake.
We will pray and ask for strength for the ones that are left behind.

The future is not ours to see.

Two young men now 43 and 47, hopefully proper autopsy is done to check if these are not Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine related. Yes deaths in previous years but not so many 1922 - 2007 x 7 people.

Agreed future is not ours to see, just so sad when four young children now without a father!

And so amazing that you knew both of them. A young age to go, but one's body can take only so much.
But in saying this there are 90 year olds that are still running. Something must have happened to shut their bodies down.

Sad especially as there were 3 of us that never had a father, but life taught us how to survive. Sadly both of my sisters are gone now, but yes, it is not easy without father. We can only hope and pray that the four kids will survive.

Their Mother is a strong lady, still young and will I am sure find the right assistance to keep carrying on, family is extremely supportive which is a strong trait in the Zulu people.

We know not what tomorrow may bring we live for today.
