Some moody mountains on show.

We live in an area that can often have four seasons in one day and here I will show you some photos of the day.
138.jpg

So come and fly with my mind in the mountain peaks.

We were on our way back from the hospital and I saw the mountains having a great time with some real foggy clouds. So I decided to nip in as my camera wanted to join the party. On another note my friends, beware of stress as it can play havoc with your health. I have some trouble coping with a situation, so things are going a bit upside down here, but we live in hope and it has always helped.
Let's go and join the mountain party.

This photo below was taken from the road as we neared the mountains.
142.JPG

Ah! Look how this peak was playing peek-a-boo in the clouds.
077.JPG

A heron came flying over and I knew that it was headed towards the mountains.
152.JPG

Yep, there the bird was approaching the mountain range.
153.JPG

The bird swooped down lower as if it would land before it would reach the mountain.
159.JPG

But the strong wind moved the cloud away to show that the heron was flying over the mountain peak.
157.JPG

Finally, the bird was gone and things started to lighten up.
168.JPG

Slowly the dark clouds were lifted and carted away by the wind.
171.JPG

But not completely, as a rim of clouds clung defiantly to the mountain tops.
131.JPG

109.JPG

Finally the mountains had a cloudy blanket to cover them for the day.
135.JPG

Now I will tell you, as I have told you before, that the winds over here are no joke. We live in a large ocean bay and at times the winds can descend howling from behind the mountains. The worst wind is of course the one that comes in from the open ocean side. Called the "Cape Doctor" there are no mountains in the way to block the south-easter wind and it can be very dangerous. Double decker buses and big trucks even have to pull off and stop from the roads when the south-easter wind is blowing.
The biggest danger is the sudden gusts of wind, as they can rip trees out.
All would feel calm, when suddenly a strong gust of wind can create many damages. It gets bad especially in the coastal areas, as there are no obstructions to tame the south-easter wind.
I for one love the winds and many a late night I stand outside to feel the wind tugging at me and whispering, come with, come with us!

I hope that you have enjoyed the photos.

Only looks cold but it was not, as we are in the summer season here. No rain and medium humidity.
Although I have to say that in one of our coastal provinces, the humidity gets so bad that when you blink, the sweat sticks your eyelids together !LOLZ

You know I love such views, my friend 😊
The 6th photo with the heron (???) before the clouds is my favourite today, Zac, I love the composition, but the image with the many birds is very cool too 😀

Enjoy the wind as long as its still wispering and not shouting and stay away from trees and busses when the wind gets louder 😉

Oh yeah, we share that love my friend 😊

Thank you and yes, it is the same heron and I just decided to follow it on its way over the mountain.
As you know a variety of photos are always the best, as then there is something for everyone to like 😉

Hahaha, the stronger the better as I really love the wind and my only danger is the trees.
But in some places people remove the old trees to prevent them from crashing down and causing damages to the good trees.

That guy at the end is preparing a rope harness and then the crane will lift him up to start cutting the tree down from its top end. I will do a post about it sometime, if I don't forget 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I knew it was a heron 😅 !LOLZ

Here they also look after the old trees and cut them before they can damage something or hurt somebody.
I have seen many YouTube videos where people have cut trees like the ones in your photo, but the trees didn't fall where they planned 🤣 so, cutting the tree down from top is a great idea 👍

I know 😜 !LOLZ

Yeah, I know that the mountain goat's country is way ahead of our 3rd world country, but the YouTube videos that you saw where a tree fell in an un-planned direction at times with dire consequences, shows that we are ahead of the world by taking a tree down from the top 🤣🤣🤣
They say that a "boer maak n plan" 😎

Cheers and thanks.

If I remember right then the videos were from South Africa 🤣 !LOLZ
Nope, they were mostly from the US just as most videos on YouTube are from the States anyway 😉

Here they cut the trees the same way as your people do if the situation requires it, but in the woods they are cut at the bottom ... our people also make plans ... most times 😂

At first you shocked me about the origin of the videos and well done Hannes 🤣 !LOLZ
Thank you for clarifying the video issue and yes, one can expect anything from the US 😉

It is the guys in the woods that one has to worry about. Many of them can't count and if they think that the tree is going to fall 5 meters short of a house's roof, then the tree falls 10 meters and crushes the house's roof 🤣🤣🤣

I am sure that your people can also make plans, such as trying to stay awake at the workplace and such things 😉

Cheers and thanks.

I don't write too much bad about the US because I still want their upvotes 😉 !LOLZ

A plan for staying awake at work isn't the best plan I can imagine, but sometimes needed 🤣

No need to write bad things about anyone my friend, even if they don't upvote you, but I think that you know this 😎 !LOLZ

In your case it is so as mountain goats want to sleep as soon as their stomachs are full 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, I know that. In my first months or even years I had a look on almost every account that upvoted me, but I don't do that anymore ... there are too many sometimes (luckily) 😉

Oh well, sometimes mountain goats fall asleep while they are eating 🤣 !LOLZ

I did a powerdown today Hannes, as it is going to take too long for me the reach the target of 100,000hp.
Even now the voting values on my posts have dropped, so my plan is to rather post like you do. Not every day anymore and rather to treat Hive as a hobby 😊

Be careful when you want to fall asleep when you eat, as you might swallow a spoon 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

It didn't feel good when I made the powerdown but it had to be done. The money helped me a lot with my van and some other costs. Now I'm a Dolphin again and on my way up to an Orca if nothing happens that needs another powerdown.

At the moment I post when I feel like it. Maybe I'll make one when I'm at work on Sunday, but I'm not sure.
Hive is really a hobby for me and maybe one day I'll post daily again. Many people will miss your daily posts but also appreciate to hear every two days or weekly from you. At the moment you should take care of your health anyway.

I think I'll better switch from metal to plastic spoons 🤣 !LOLZ

You are so right, as it takes hard work to get up to Ocra, but maybe someday I will be one again. I don't plan to take all of the money out, maybe only this one powerdown, but we will have to wait and see how things work out with the projects. I know that the community garden and the rape crisis center can do with more help, as they are worthy causes. So let's see how things will go.

Glad that you understand my situation and yes, I will now also only keep hive as a hobby and post occasionally. At one long stage I used to do 2 posts per day and now even with 1 post per day, it still takes a few hours out of the day. So no more my friend, as I will simply follow your style.

Even worse as plastic takes anywhere from 20-500 years to decompose and petroleum plastic cannot decompose my friend 😜 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks,

Many posts have to be written with even more photos to take to become an Orca again, and maybe I'll never reach it, but I also don't want to take more Hive out than I already have done. Maybe the Hive rises and when I'm retired my posts pay for the photo trips I want to do 😀

I don't know if my "style" is good, but just like I don't go that much on my social media accounts anymore, I now have more time for other things that I didn't do in the past years ... but don't be as lazy as I am, my friend, and make at least one post per week 😀

Okay, I'll keep the metal spoons and take care to not fall asleep while eating 🤣 !LOLZ

When hive forked from steem, there was a small some amount available to me that I took out, about 4 years ago. Nothing since, but I am powering down right now at this moment. I don't care to be an Ocra anymore and as long as I have some stake in hive, then when it rises it could make it possible for you and me to meet 😊

I have also long ago stopped posting in other social media channels, as my full concentration was on Hive. Now I need more time to get my health right and the priorities are firstly to sort my critical iron level out and after that the left knee replacement and after that my spinal fusion. After that I will be young again 😜

Now you're talking and nowadays they make watches that can pin you when they sense that you are falling asleep. They work on the speed of your heart rate and maybe you have to get one 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I did about the same and I also want to keep the Hive that I have staked in hope for it to rise and pay my ticket to South Africa or yours to Europe 😀

From time to times I want to post again on Vero and Instagram, but at the moment I don't feel like it.

Your health is most important at the moment and when you're young again you can think of doing more online again.

Haha, such a watch would pin me all day long at work and when they work on the speed of my heart rate I will not retire in 4 years but in 8 years 🤣 !LOLZ

Yeah and the staked hive will continue to grow in the meantime. Lady patience whispered in my ear to tell you that everything will come together in the future, so all that we have to do is to wait.
We must also remember to give back to hive 😊

Strangely I have lost all of my inspiration, as we have had so many knocks over time and the latest one just made me to think that it is not worth it anymore. So when I am young again, I will not continue to do more online, as I would rather follow my passions 😟

Oh yes, I forgot that you sleep a lot and the slow heart rate will inform the watch that it is wasting its time. So it might even add 10 years to your retirement 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I only hope that Lady Patience don't wait too long because when I'm 99 I don't think I'll need the millions anymore 🤣 !LOLZ

I can understand you very well, Zac, because in the past months I haven't been inspired a lot. I wished I could do without social media, but somehow I want to share my photography and so sooner or later I will go online again.

Wow, another 10 years? This number suddenly makes my heart beat faster, much faster 😉

Hahaha, now you make me worry as I am much closer to 99 than you are 😜 !LOLZ

It seems to drain one Hannes, and then with health issues on top of it, then it only gets worse. I have now stopped every day posting after 5 years and I am starting to enjoy the free time, as we can do more at Papillon. Of course it's always nice to post one's photos.

The way that I feel now, I don't know if I will still be around in 10years time 😟
But only God knows 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Of course it's a good feeling to post the photos you have made, but you're also feeling the same as me: the freedom of not having to post because I was somehow addicted and all my thoughts were about what I could post each day. Of course I loved to post daily and I loved the comments I got, but it was also hard work, you know it, and now it's fun because I post when I really feel like it :)

Both of us will be here in 10 years, you'll see 😁 !LOLZ

Totally agreed with you and I am starting to like the free time. I thankfully don't worry about what I am going to post, as I just select some photos from my big collection and then I put them in. It is the topics that keeps me up, as I must have enough material to form a story.

I also hope that I will be around in 10 years time, but the way that things are going now makes me very dubious. Maybe I will be waiting for your visit in another place 😉 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

It's easier for me to post, I believe, at least most times: I put the images from my photo trips into separate folders in a folder named "Ecency" and whenever I feel like posting and I have some time, I take one of these folders and write the story of the trip I have made. When there's not much to tell, I add information about the place or some other more or less info 😀

Nope, we'll meet and hike up to Table Mountain ... or take the cable car 😂 !LOLZ

That is a great way to do it Hannes. When I posted every day, I would place the numbers of the photos that I took on the day in a book and then I would post the numbers that I liked. You have a much more advanced system than mine, as mine is very basic. It is great to read the place names where you take the photos as it gives people that "exotic" feeling. Something like tickling that travelling bone 😊

It will have to be the cable car as hive will moon when we are both in our wheelchairs 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

When I put the photos of a trip into separate folders, it's easier for me to remember the trip later 😁

But when the hive moons we'll have our own cable car and don't need to share it with the other tourists 😂 !LOLZ

I enjoyed the photos! Haha. And the way you seem to tell a good story. I liked the looks of the mountain and the cloud blown with the wind. Looked like a storm. I kinda love storms. They are scary but, maybe it's just the odd things that interest me.
