The Black South Easter wind was up and blowing like a maniac.

With some lovely effects as you will see in here. But first I want to show you a rainbow that held me captive this afternoon.

I had my spade and a bucket ready to go and dig for the gold at the wrong end of the rainbow :)

We have two versions of the south easter wind blowing at full storm strength that can reach speeds of up to 90kmph.
A South Easter wind, also known as the Cape Doctor, that blows during summer, creating havoc all over. And then we have a black south easter wind during the colder months, usually during Spring and Autumn. Such a wind made its appearance today as we are now close to the start of our winter season. This wind is also accompanied by heavy rainfall further inland and down here at the coast it can raise the waves to dizzying heights. Real stormy seas with not a single ship, or boat to be seen out there on the sea.

I tried to find the right spot to start digging, but it was impossible, as we were too far out.

Now let me show you how the wind was playing with the clouds.

These photos were taken early morning during our first power cut.

That big head at the top reminded me of a snoopy dog.

Mother nature has so many tricks up in her sleeve and one can never know what a new day will bring. These are the things that I always look forward to and I keep my eyes constantly on the sky when I am out there. Recently a guy came up to me and asked me what I was taking a photo of, as he can't see anything. I showed him the picture on my camera and he was blown away. One has to be in synch and observant out there and of course also with a sense of expectation. Robert Lynd said; In order to see birds, it is necessary to a part of the silence.

Some lovely rain yesterday, lovely cool breeze blew through here as well, not quite the Cape Doctor !LOLZ

Looked for rainbows, none to be found perhaps next time, your captures look amazing!

A week I wish was... more productive without all the hassles. Nonetheless hopefully Marian can try a replant of the stem and revive the plant they are quite hardy.

When the rainbow arrives I will smile, clouds have all passed over and gone now.

Life is not a bed of roses without the thorns of late, have endured a tumultuous week this past couple. Grin and bear it !LOLZ

Families are being ripped apart, whether moving to other cities or countries. Dirty deeds of the leaders are not going unnoticed, very tough ride for poor homeless my heart bleeds for them with cold front going through!

So true and there is no regard for the poor, as I just read that some R93 million was spent on enhancing the homes of the supposed rulers. But rest assured that history will tell of all these shenanigans and many will be covered in shame.

Pity that we are so old, else we would also have been long gone.

Younger son could not make it due to pandemic outbreak lost a lot of money, will wait and see what happens in the future. Older son going on an extended six month visitors visa, staying with friends, visiting family looking at viability, he is not on the list of required skills.

Hindsight is 50/50 we lament now but still love our country, most are good people, sadly scared to stand up to the hooligans running around.

The difference is having a job at the destination, before emigrating. My eldest daughter emigrated to the UK during the peak of the Covid shutdown with her companies' help, as their HQ is in the UK.

Can your younger son not upskill himself to suit for one of the jobs that are in demand?
I really hope your older boy will find something on his visit.

Tough times that we all face and the politicians are bleating empty promises again to get votes for the elections next year. Inner fighting and degrading all opposition in a fight to stay in the cushy life. No care about the people of this country. Race baiting is again rearing its ugly head and dividing the nations are at the order of the day. A real mess methinks.

Have been looking into variety of options from folk we know over there, younger son has some temporary work here for six months at the moment.

Disgusted with this attitude toward splitting people, worse than the NATS..., with venom being spewed regularly, never seen the likes of this over all the years.

Very wise and if you decide, then please let me know so that I can check it out. Glad that your son has something going in the meantime.
My eldest is in the UK with her family, my son has a house renovation company, and my youngest daughter is the rich one in the family, as she imports tiles from Italy for upmarket clients.
I am so glad that they are independent, and I ask them for nothing, as they have their own lives to lead.

With all of the name changes, people are starting to feel like strangers and you are right, as families are being destroyed.

What a rainbow...
I also like the moon pic. Have you tried to use these lens for photographing airplanes. I'm curious if at catching flying objects does the same job.

Thank you and I have posted a few airplane posts before. The zoom lens can bring them down very close, even if they fly at heights.

I still remember as a child whenever it rained and then the sun came like this we used to wait for it. And when it came, we used to be very happy to see it and used to do a lot.
