The early colors of Spring.

I want to show you the start of our spring season and how it changes the wide open landscapes into lovely paintings.

So come with us on a drive around the countryside to see the beautiful effects of the new spring season.

During winter as you know, everything is bleak and dour, but when spring comes the lands start to dress in new colors and the birds change their sad songs into warm melodies. It always also awakens the joy inside ourselves.
It is such a pleasure to feel the warm air on a long unplanned drive and to be surprised by the lovely views.
So hop in and lets go.

Still early here, but it will soon start to lighten up.

Now how clever is this below to plant Lavender along the length next to the vineyards in order to draw bees to pollinate the vineyards.

Here is a shot of our way back home.

I will tell you a funny story in another post, about scarecrows and man's attempts to scare the birds away. The birds simply turned around to show man that they are boss. Very funny:)

We love to awake in the mornings and then to get into the car, and to just drive into nowhere. Sadly, the high prices of gas/petrol get scary these days, and this severely shortens our trips. In the past on a Sunday, I could easily get up and travel for 2-3 hours on a trip in the countryside. North, South, East, West, I go as the wind blows and so many times I encounter lovely surprises. No speeding and just a slow leisurely cruise and I allow the countryside to talk to me. There is so much beauty in life, all just waiting for us to discover, if we would only just nip a bit of our rushed time off to have a look. A real deep look, of course.

I hope that you have enjoyed the trip and the photos.

Such beauty around you, and lovely that you truly appreciate it. Thank you for sharing, and reminding me to look and see what's around me.

Many have these desires and maybe someday in the future you will.

@papilloncharity I also love that driving to nowhere, just rolling, clearing the mind and stopping to enjoy the beauty that comes out to meet us. But my husband and I have time without giving ourselves that luxury, his work pace has limited the time we have to go out.

Sad that you are cramped for time as it is indeed a lovely adventure just to get up and go out to nowhere.
Like you said, to stop off on the way and to take things easy. It is very good for the mind.

Hahaha the cross with a cloth on (or is it a scarecrow), I thought it was a person running in a field, naked wearing a linen.

My imagination goes wild! I really love your area, these moutains look so invivitng! You far from Stellenbosch? We were wondering with the wife :/

Hahaha, you do indeed have a creative imagination. That is a scarecrow that sadly could not survive the winds. They are the Hottentots-Holland mountains and we are just down the road from you guys.
