The fountain pump broke down.

Where is the water, where is the water. the Starling sang.

We have not visited here for a long time, as we thought that the coffee shop was still closed.

But to our surprise, new owners have opened it up again, and it was business as usual. Except that this time round, the fountain was not working due to a broken pump, and a guy took the pump to his workshop in order to fix it. The birds were not impressed, but they just carried on as usual, as there was still water in the levels. Imagine if this happened to you, when you undressed and stepped into the shower, opened the tap and no water!

I could not see the bird behind the crown, but the cascading water drops told me that there was some serious bathing going on.

Then another guy arrived to join the party.

And still another one came in.

In the end most took off but have a look at the face of the one that was now sitting at the top of the crown. There is normally a stream of water shooting out at the top, and now nothing. So that bird looked very unimpressed.

Now let's have a look at the bottom of the fountain.

Yay! The goldfish thought that I was coming to feed them, but no such luck.

Nevertheless, they kept on swimming around near me in case I had some food for them.

A while later, as we were leaving, another starling was landing and a pigeon had the same idea.

We will go back there sometime, as I want to show you the beauty of the fountain when the pump is running. The water stream that spouts out the top fills the top tier and then the water cascades down, to fill the lower tiers. For some reason it always makes me happy to see the sight, especially when the birds also come in to bath in the cascading water. Sadly this day it was not so, but the birds just carried on as usual.
The lesson for us here, is that we also get setbacks in life, but we should be like the birds, and just carry on with life. Things will always work themselves out.
Just something to think about!

I hope that you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

I have always liked fountains, I can imagine how beautiful it will be when the pump is fixed and the water cascades. And the birds flitting overhead and taking a nice bath. Very nice post and excellent photos. My regards and happy day.🤗

Excellent images my friend. I love pigeons, Whenever I go out in the city and see them eating in the streets or as in this case in the fountains, I stop to appreciate their beauty. It's funny how they learn that if they come close to you there may be a chance that you will give them food. 😅The truth is that they are very intelligent animals 👌.

On the other hand, fish are not far behind. They also learn what one can feed them. And it's great to see how animated they get when you grant their wish.🙌😅.

In the case of your post, you have captured images with high level of detail. In both cases you can appreciate the majesty of these beautiful animals 🤩.

I would certainly like to see a publication with the fountain working 👍.

Well friend, a 10/10 publication have a great day. Best regards.🤝🤝

Thank you and we love all kinds of birds. I especially wanted to show how the birds can overcome problems, as even though the fountain was not working, the birds still carried on like normal.
When some humans get a problem, they jump around and shout, as if the world is ending !LOLZ

Fish are creatures of habit and even though the know the feeding times, they still take a chance in case there's a luck that some visitor will also feed them.
I said elsewhere that I will do a post when the fountain is in full operation.
Glad that you liked the post.

It looks like a perfect place to have lunch :) I hope the new owners are taking good care of the fish, and feeding the birds.

Oh yes, the coffee house also serves light meals :) The fountain is in a square, surrounded with shops, and all of the shop owners look after the fish and the birds. A big happy family :)

Perfect indeed, and on the really hot days, there are indeed plenty birds around. Also Starlings and the little cape sparrows.

Just like that birds are thirsty so they are looking for water everywhere and it is the responsibility of all of us to arrange water for them on our roof this photography is very beautiful.

I agree and it's always nice to see that people care for the water needs of the birds.
