The lovers lane.

This particular part of the pond for some reason is popular with lovers.

Today I will show you something that I am sure not many of you have seen before.

A restful and peaceful Sunday to all and it is time for us to prepare for the new week at a charity meeting today of all days. But it is important and I will soon show you in a post what the excitement is all about. No it is not about riches, but rather planning to give poor children a great new future.
But I digress so come and look at what I found.

It started with this pair of Damselflies named Masai Sprite (Pseudagrion massaicum)
038.jpg

Now just have a look at this and I have never before seen two mating couples together on one leaf.
047.jpg

A bit confusing here below, but the next photo will give a better idea.
050.jpg

051.jpg

I tried to get the dragonfly's reflection in the water at the bottom of the picture.
079.jpg

All 3 of the dragonfly photos are of a Red-veined Dropwing (Trithemis arteriosa)
093.jpg

And finally I close with a lovely Lotus.
057.jpg

We nipped out late afternoon as the midday heat is unbearable here and I was really surprised to get the mating couples of damselflies together, as this has never happened before. I don't think that it's because of the heat and they also cannot defend themselves, so it is not for strength that they gather. Just a rare occurrence that I was lucky to get on camera.
Life holds many pleasant surprises to balance the bad surprises and we have to enjoy the pleasant ones as much as we can.

We really hope that you will all have a blessed Sunday.

And That's All Friends.

Thank you for the kind tipu Lady Joan.
I was really glad to get the new first shots of two couples on a leaf. Never seen it before, even online.

Hope that your Sunday is good.

Must be a 'happy pond' to have so many dragonflies around, rare sighting indeed!

Happy Monday morning and hopefully a good productive week.

Oh yes a very peaceful place where we love to sit Lady Joan.
Sadly our week will last until Thursday, or maybe Wednesday due to the expected temperature rises.

We hope that you guys will have a better week.

Always one day at a time, mornings not too bad it's the afternoons when you start to feel the heat, such is life.

Take it easy, make the most of it one way or another.

From 11am it starts to become unbearable here my friend.
The Cape is different and it is difficult to become used to this weather.
No wonder that the old trekkers moved moved up north.

We try my dear, we try 😉

Weather down there was not so bad this has happened over the last twenty years, always been wet winters dry summers with ideal farming behind the mountain.

Think the trekkers were looking for better farming conditions before they found what lay under the land then the greed took over like happened everywhere else.

Our winter rains made their way from winter into early summer and if there's anyone that knows the weather, it's a farmer and they are all moaning about the weather here.

I saw a guy driving a speed boat in the street of a drought plagued Karroo town. Water all over the place.

Oh yes, and nowadays it's the developers buying farms to build fancy chicken hoks that they sell for an arm and a leg to the new generation.

Dam sluices being opened around the country, low level dwellers will have problems again, after long drought now a wash out!

Farmers cannot depend on the weather as they could twenty/thirty years ago. Traditional big farming will fall away with land disputes on the rise many farmers giving up, yes "groen dakkies" pop up everywhere cost an arm and a leg.

Oh? Didn't you hear that as the people vacate their homes the homes are raided by thieves.
I think you know that we were downstream when all the Vaal's sluices were opened, and it's amazing how those floods can destroy brick buildings and rip out big trees.

Mind you now that the floods are again happening I will dig out my photos and do a post about it.

All that I can says about all of this is that we are a maelstrom of sinister happenings and it's true that it will get worse before we have a hope of anything getting better. God save us if we get the wrong president.

Thieves will come in whether the home is empty or not, very brazen of late. Water will take most things out of the path when full flow comes.

It's not just our country it is a problem throughout, politicians dance to "He who pays the piper calls the tune."

Yes and even car accident victims are robbed, many other sick stories, but desperate people will always find a way out.

Yes, money and power is the tune that are played.

You've photographed some of Dragonfly's great moments. Looking at the moments, it seems as if they have participated in the dance. The flower is also wonderful.

Thank you and I like how you described the mating moves as a dance, as indeed that is what it is.
Yes I also like the stately Lotus flowers.

Lovely photos as always, Zac, and as said yesterday, I haven't even seen one couple of Damselflies mating yet
😀 The red Dragonfly looks great and I like the Lotus flower a lot 🤩

Keep cool, my friend ❄️

Well I hope that you will get a couple of damselflies mating on camera in your next summer Hannes 😉
Only thing is that I don't think that you have damselflies in Austria? So maybe you will have to travel here that I can show you some 🤣

Thank you and glad that you liked the photos my friend.

Thankfully today is a bit cooler and you also take care.

Cheers and thanks.

Oh yes I forget and now I am waiting for your summer shot of 2 pairs of mating damselflies on a leaf in a pond. The way I know you, I am expecting 2 or 4 mating pears on the same leaf.

I have not put a laughing emoji on my answer above, as I would rather let my dragonfly laugh at you.

Been to the doctor today and we will wait to see what the blood tests have to say.

Cheers and thanks.

Hahaha, I have given you one already and now I mustn't forget to count the second 🤣

I would love to believe you, but there are a few worries that I hope they can sort out my friend.
Maybe you know that I had 5 light strokes that was not diagnosed when I ended up in the emergency wards of some hospitals. Can you believe one doctor gave me pain tablets and he sent me home. I didn't know that it was light strokes, as I didn't fall over or anything, but the last time a clever doctor sent me for a head scan MRI and it was shown in my brain.
So yes, we will wait and see what's wrong.

Cheers and thanks.

Well, you were lucky to find the right doctor, my friend. It's not understandable that a doctor can behave like the one who gave you pain tablets and didn't search for a cause.

My thoughts are with you, Zac, and I'm expecting good news!

There are doctors and then there are those that call themselves doctors my friend.
But that's not the half of the story, as another time the left side of my face went lame. They diagnosed it as "Bells Palsy" in the meantime it was another light stroke.
Than another during a visit to the Cape my left hand went lame. When we arrived home, a specialist said it might be a nerve in my elbow and he suggested an operation which I on instinct refused.
A few weeks late my left hand came alive again and it was another light stroke.

Thankfully God steered me in the right direction and this new quack certainly knows his business.

Cheers and thanks.

There have been quite some doctors who were wrong, Zac, and I am happy that you have found one who knows what he does. Everything will be fine, my friend 😊
