The second last full moon of the year.

I was a bit worried about the night being cloudy, but thankfully it was clear as we parked the car with a view of the mountain peaks.

Hide and seek, as I didn't know behind which of the peaks the moon would appear. But thankfully it announced its imminent arrival, by lighting up the sky above its chosen peak.

This was Monday night, as we are back home now, and I read that moonrise would occur at 8:04pm. So, at 8:30pm we departed from our house, as it takes the moon about 35 minutes to rise above the mountain range. My timing was a bit out, as the sky was still pitch dark when we arrived. So, I parked the car near a squash club building that had lights around it.
Crime is rampant in our country, and I couldn't park at the old dark spot that I like to get the moon on my camera but as you can see, it made no difference to the previous full moon shots that I posted, as the zoom worked just as well.

Yes, oh yes, there she was, clear of the mountain peak in her full glory.

Here is a closer look at the moon behind that tree, almost a Christmas feeling.

And there she was much later when we were at home. Sadly, she has lost her yellow luster.

This was taken on the previous night, and you can see that we had heavy clouds.

Imagine that, the second last full moon of the year! I don't know if you agree, but for us it feels that time has grown two pairs of wings. For instance, on Monday last week we left to go on a short break, and now it is 9 days later and to me it feels like yesterday that we left on the break.
Maybe I am just getting old, because I remember many years ago, an hour felt like half a day, especially when I had to sit in the "naughty corner". Nowadays you blink your eyes and an hour is gone. How come?
Either the world is spinning faster, or the planets are rushing around faster, or maybe my head is now just spinning faster. Whatever it is, time has put on a pair of racing shoes. My wife says this is great material for a cartoon. I will ask her to draw a figure named time with four wings and a pair of racing shoes:)
Such is life.
