The unexpected happened.

Many of you know that I feed our squirrels by hand, but a surprise arrived!

They watch the study window here at home and as soon as I arrive to work on my PC, they start to appear at the window. At times I feed them by hand, but when I am busy then I lay the peanuts out for them. Sort of a self help system for them that I have going here,
Today a stranger appeared so come and see.

But look at this surprise that came to try it's luck!

A little Ringneck dove was peeping at me.

With eyes closed praying that I will not chase it away.

And it scored a whole peanut for lunch.
The dove's timing was perfect as it knew that the squirrel will soon return to take another nut, so the dove nipped in to score.

Even though today is reckoned as a Red Blood Flowing Monday due to the fall in the capital markets, it is a green day for us, as the rain is here to kill the fires.
Historical lows are noted in the drops of the money markets across the world and even on Hive. Some doom prophets are even saying that a recession will soon face all of us. But we have learned to ride things out and I am not going anywhere. What must happen simply must take place and we will bear it out.

I hope that you have enjoyed the post even though it will have a low value.

And That's All Friends.

I was bitten by a squirrel many years ago whilst feeding him by hand and have never forgotten it. Amazing what you are doing but would never have thought a dove would like monkey nuts.

We had a couple of grey squirrels regularly visit our bird table last winter. They would run across the glass roof of our conservatory and set off dog! A couple of collared doves were regular visitors to, they looked very much like yours. I don't think I'll be trying to feed them through the window, my dog is old and slow but I wouldn't trust him with furry or feathery creatures!

I prefer squirrel would run away with her treat... but agree - pigeon intruder stealing little part - these photos are funnier.

That dove has an eye for an opportunity my friend and the squirrel will learn like all of the others to run away when Harry lands in the garden :)
