Waiting for the full moon.

We had the time and the spot where the moon would rise, and we went to wait for it.

First of August and we want to wish a great month to everybody.

It is a big open field about 2 kilometers from our house, and I have now a few times posted a full moon from that field. The moon is ever so slowly moving over on its way to the summer season. The reason why I put the mountains as the tag picture is that when the moon rises behind those peaks then it makes for fabulous photos, when the moon sits on one of those peaks. For now, we have to take what we can get, and sadly it was a misty night on this occasion.

My camera doesn't like misty nights, and neither do I, but we both persevere to see if we can get something. The thing is that the weather doesn't play the game here and the forecast of the day told us that it would be misty. So, imagine going out late at night in a place that is riddled with crime, never easy as one has to have 8 eyes like a spider to keep a look around for strange movements. Standing alone in an empty field makes a great target, but on this occasion a lady came walking along with two Bull Terriers on a leash. It made me so happy, as no thief will try anything with those dogs around.

Right, the moon started to emerge from behind a foothill of the mountains.

Slowly, it started to rise.

I got this moonshot much later in the night, and it looks so much better. But I have to admit, the other shots above were not my best shots of the moon, but I had to take what I could get under the hazy circumstances.

It really looks like water that the moon's reflection is on, but instead it is the roof of our car as I hold the camera down on the roof to avoid blurring.

So, some things never look like what we think it is. I bet you thought that the moon reflection was on the water of a dam in the last two shots. But instead, the truth is that it was my car roof. Isn't it the same in life? We look at something and we expect it to be what we see, but then it turns out that it is something totally different. I know that I regularly make mistakes like that, and it always bugs me.
Such is life.
