Water skiing inland in bad weather

We had a warning of bad weather, but they went skiing.

Cable skiing that is, as no boats are used and instead the skiers are pulled along by an overhead cable system.

We were on our way back from a meeting with a famous artist that I will feature in a post tomorrow and I saw this from our car on the road. So I pulled off to the side of the road and I got the following photos of the skiing action.
Come and see.

This is what the weather looked like as we came over the top of the mountain pass.

You can see one of the cable drums here above the skier and and the drums are positioned all along the skiing route and connected to a strong motor.

Oops! I sensed a mishap taking place here, as the guy at the left seemed to have lost his balance, or his footing.

Oh yes, an almighty crash and at speed he kissed the water.

But he seemed safe and the other skiier continued on the cable route.

Finally, here they were kitting up more skiers, but we could not wait and we moved on.

In my first post this morning Here I said that I am breaking new ground by posting in different communities than my norm and I don't know if #actifit is the correct community for this post.
Be that as it may, I know that watersports are great for fitness efforts and I hope that you have enjoyed the post.

Should you ever visit the Western Cape Province in South Africa, this is a place for great water sports.

I'm not too afraid of bad weather, but it seems to me it's pretty cold to fall into the water at this time of the year 😁

Maybe up north there as it will soon be winter, but down here in the south we are now in Spring season and the water is not a problem.
