Enter the Dragon(s)!

Off to this week's challenge with my favourite Splinter!

Well, I don't know if I can call it a favourite Splinter, since it's always combined with another one. But that's the simple fact, that dragons can join forces with any other team, that makes me love them. Adding to that, there are insanely good dragon cards,so we have a heavenly combination!

I don't even know in which dragon to focus on: the summoner? One of the monsters? Dragon summoners are in my heart because they were the first ones I maxed: Daria was the first ever, and sold one of my two ever gfl to buy a maxed Selenia, one of my favourite summoners!

But let's go with one card I don't see that often, but is incredibly useful: the Scale Doctor!

He's not a damage dealer for sure, with only 1 ranged attack, but...

  • Strengthen from lever 1, boosting your team HP
  • Triage from level 2, healing the damage dealers
  • Rust from level 3, removing opponent's shields
  • And repair at max level, repairing your team's shields!

This amazing array of buffs is enough to increase the survivability of your team by a lot, and sometimes that's the edge you need to be victorious. Even if your battling one of the best summoners in the game!

Selenia VS Yodin!

Ruleset: Close range - ranged attackers can strike from first position

With this ruleset, I knew I had to get tough monsters to sustain heavy damage in front:

  • Lord Arianthus as a tank, one of my most used tanks
  • Cornealus in the second position: perfect offtank here, has heal and a huge health, so it would be able to take some damage in case the main tank falls
  • Goblin chief: not a huge damage dealer, but the affliction ability can help a lot, and poison comes in handy too.
  • Scale doctor: buffs for the whole team!
  • Spirit of the forest: good range attack with Selenia's buff, armor and heal; a must have!
  • Javelin thrower: best damage dealer on the team, and one of the fastest. I was counting on the speed and the triage from the scale doctor in case of the sneak attacks.

Selenia was an obvious choice for this ruleset; but when I saw Yodin in the other lineup, I thought this would be a loss. Fortunately, the tactics worked really well: Cornealus had enough HP to absorb the blast damage, and the scale doctor was invaluable in keeping him alive.

And here it is, providing a 4 heal to Cornealus, and attacking the opposing tank; thanks to the fast strikes in the second round there were only 3 monsters left in the other team. Cornealus and the doctor were the main reason why I pulled this off: a monster with less hp or no heals in the second position would be in no position to take the blast damage and the snipe from the ferexia general.

I was actually able to keep the whole team alive! This was the finale: scale doctor missing his strike! But round 4 started and the battle was already won. You can check the entire battle here!

How exciting are these times? Crossing fingers for a huge drop in vouchers prices, and battling in the meanwhile!

See you on the battlefield!

Nice battle! A Level 3 Scale Doctor is, indeed, extremely powerful, with 3 different abilities!

I'm reaally sorry for not having him evolved to level 4 when prices were low! Maybe I'll get another chance. 😉 Thanks for the visit!

I mean, everyone's sorry for not having hoarded thousands of cards when Splinterlands was still cheap :P
