Fast little dragons

Been a while since I joined the contest, and this week's theme is one of my favourites, so... battle sharing time!

In this battle they teamed up with the Life splinter; dragons come in all shapes and sizes, and since this was a kinda low mana battle, picked two of my favourites in low mana games:

Naga Asssassin and Sperpentine Mystic are extremely versatile and are a good fit in almost all rulesets. I do see the naga used often, but rarely see the serpentine! Which is strange to me, given how useful it is.

But off to the battle, and I'll explain why I love them, especially in these rulesets.

Rulesets:

  • Armored up: all monsters have +2 armour
  • Spreading fury: all monsters have the enrage ability

In the spreading fury, I tend to concentrate damage and avoid using monsters with reflect, in order to delay enraging the other monsters as much as I can... although I broke my two rules in this lineup! Apart from those, I want monsters as fast as I can, in order to increase my chances of dodging enemy attacks, especially after becoming enraged: hence my two little dragon picks!

My lineup:

  • Selenia Sky as my summoner

  • Pelacor conjurer as my tank. Why? Although it has reflect, and I don't like using reflect in this ruleset, has another ability that is awesome here: phase! A fast monster, enraged, and with phase, can dodge a ton of attacks! And it has the flying ability, making him even harder to hit!

  • Djin renova - A good support with triage, and decent firepower

  • Serpentine mystic - has decent health in max level, and two very important abilities here: slow, crucial to my strategy, and affliction, preventing heals

  • Truthspeaker, that compensates the lack of attack skills with healing, extra shield and cleanse

  • Silvershield assassin as my main damage dealer, since apart from the powerful attack, also has poison; so if the enraged monster is hard to hit but gets hit with poison, more chance to getting them killed.

  • Naga assassin in the back row: decent attack especially with Selenia bonus, more speed to the whole team, and with backfire; if it gets hit, it's extremely hard to hit! Besides, was counting with the triage ability from Djin to keep here alive, in case there were a lot of sniper attacks.

My opponent mounted a similar strategy, and teams were at full power, so it was a fun battle! I had the advantage of a faster team, thanks to my two little dragons.

At the end of round 1, my tank finally enraged; 9 speed and flying. A much harder hit, and it showed in the coming round.

This was the first of three straight misses, and I had already killed one of the sneak monsters, Uraeus, not without having my Naga poisoned first.

But as the poison kicked in, I had a 11 speed naga! First one to strike, and helped a lot in hitting the max level pelacor from my opponent too: this was the killing blow.

I lost my tank on the 5th round, but as the Silvershield assassin continued to bash the opponent's rear, my Djin helped keep the Naga alive, and the 4 magic strike helped to clear the monsters coming to the front row.

And from here, Doctor blight didn't stood a chance, and victory came. You can watch the whole battle here!

See you on the battlefield! 😉
