Splinterlands Ramblings...(or ranting?) and a giveaway inside

Rebellion is live! A whole set of new cards, and a whole ton of strategies! I'm already facing maxed rebellion cards on the battlefield, and I'm still oblivious to basically every new card out there; I'm sure I'll catch up soon enough, though.

Exciting times for gameplay, but... what was really a surprise was the little things that came along with it. First one, the gameplay graphics:

Am I the only one that hates the new layout? "Squashed" cards, and the level bar on top and hurting my eyes; a step back in what we used to have. To top it up, gameplay speed is notoriously decresad at 3x speed, which is the speed I usually see them. Why Splinterlands, why?If something's not broke, don't fix it!

The second one... was realising that for the first time in the game's history, we're not having packs in the rewards. One can wonder why the f$$% are we wasting (and being wasted) time on stuff like this, for starters:

If the amount of packs given away in reward chests is that damaging to the game's economy (and don't get me started on that topic while bots are still allowed...), it would be far more wise to simply lower the drop chance!

Yes, I do realise I'm being grumpy, and probably biased by my current mood; but can't help thinking we're going in circles and still not focusing on the main thing: making the game as fun and addictive as possible. And nerfing rewards and worsening visuals doesn't seem a great start to the new player experience focus. But please, PLEASE, prove me I'm just seeing things wrong - maybe too impatient?
