Today, large retail stores have been replaced by markets opened between neighborhoods and streets. You can see the markets of many different companies between the streets. Imagine that you have a say in these markets. You enter the store. You will see the shortcomings and take notes. You will determine your plans by taking the necessary precautions regarding this. Although it sounds very nice to have authority and give instructions to people, this job is not as easy as it seems...

Leadership should not be thought of only as business life. If you are going to be a leader and a manager, you have to have some features within you. Let me explain what I mean with an example. For example; You are the regional manager of retail stores. You entered a store. I do not want to dwell too much on the cleaning and hygiene rules at the entrance. You immediately saw that there were no tomatoes in the fruit aisle. You took note. You noticed that the vegetables and fruits in the fruit aisle were mixed, and you took notes again. You are moving between the aisles. You've seen large glass bottled drinks on the top shelves. You took note of that too. You realized that a product that entered the campaign is only waiting on the aisle and the show stand for it has not been built yet. You have come to the section where the products in the refrigerator are. You questioned why products with close expiration dates are on the back shelves. You immediately informed the store manager, seeing that there was a water leak between the metal cavities at the top of the refrigerator and that it was dripping onto the products. You can give these examples yourself. The important thing here is to know the tricks of your business very well and to look at the store as a manager or a leader.

A person who does not have leadership qualities does not have a chance to rise in the institution or business he works for. We can count these characteristics as determination, self-confidence, organization, listening to employees and good communication. I want to give an example again. I think this example is actually an example of humiliation and an inconsistent manager. I wanted to buy cold water from a market in the middle of July when the weather was very hot in Antalya. I went to the cabinets. But I couldn't see cold water in the cabinets. At that time, the regional manager was inspecting. I asked one of the employees if you don't have cold water. He said he wasn't either. I also uttered the following sentence with the reaction of thirst. How come you don't put water in the closet in this hot weather? At that time, the manager who made the audit turns to the employee and the customer is telling the truth. Beware of such situations. He said put water in the cup immediately. Actually, I was very upset about this situation. Watching an employee being humiliated made me extremely uncomfortable. Because employees are the biggest weapons that lead companies and businesses to success. The more you value and protect your employees, the more they protect the company's vision and mission.

A leader who does his best by removing the obstacles in front of him has no reason to fail. The same applies not only to your business life, but also to your general life. Günümüzde artık büyük perakende mağazalarının yerini mahalle ve cadde aralarında açılan marketler aldı. Cadde aralarında birden çok farklı firmaların marketlerini görebilirsiniz. Bu marketlerde söz sahibi olduğunuzu düşünün. Mağazadan içeri giriyorsunuz. Eksikleri görüp not alacaksınız. Bununla ilgili de gerekli tedbirleri alarak, planlarınızı belirleyeceksiniz. Yetki sahibi olmak ve insanlara talimatlar vermek her ne kadar kulağa çok hoş gelse de, bu iş sanıldığı kadar kolay değil...

Liderliği sadece iş yaşamı olarak da düşünmemek gerekiyor. Liderlik ve yöneticilik yapacaksanız eğer bir takım özellikleri de içinizde barındırmak zorundasınız. Ne demek istiyorum hemen bir örnekle açıklayayım. Örneğin; Perakende mağazalarının bölge müdürüsünüz. Bir mağazaya girdiniz. Girişteki temizlik ve hijyen kurallarının üzerinde çok fazla durmak istemiyorum. Meyve reyonunda hemen domatesin olmadığını gördünüz. Not aldınız. Meyve reyonundaki sebzelerin ve meyvelerin karışık yerleştirildiğini fark ettiniz, yine not aldınız. Reyon aralarında ilerliyorsunuz. Büyük cam şişeli içeceklerin en üst raflarda olduğunu gördünüz. Bunu da not aldınız. Kampanyaya giren bir ürünün sadece reyonda bekletildiğini ve onunla ilgili gösteri standının henüz yapılmadığını anladınız. Buzdolabındaki ürünlerin olduğu bölüme geldiniz. Son kullanma tarihleri yakın olan ürünlerin neden arka raflar da durduğunu sorguladınız. Buzdolabının üst kısmında metal boşlukların arasından su sızıntı olduğunu ve bunun ürünlerin üzerine damla damla aktığını görerek, hemen mağaza yöneticisine haber verdiniz. Bu örnekleri sizler de verebilirsiniz. Burada önemli olan yaptığınız işin püf noktalarını çok iyi bilerek, bir yönetici veya bir lider olarak gözüyle mağazaya bakmanızdır.

Liderlik özelliklerine sahip olmayan bir insanın çalıştığı kurumda ya da işletme de yükselme şansı da yoktur. Bu özellikleri kararlı olma, kendine güvenme, organize etme, çalışanları dinleme ve iyi bir iletişim olarak sayabiliriz. Yine bir örnek vermek istiyorum. Bu örnek aslında küçük düşürme ve tutarsız bir yöneticinin örneği olduğunu düşünüyorum. Antalya' da havaların çok sıcak olduğu bir temmuz ayı ortasında bir marketten soğuk su almak istedim. Dolaplara yöneldim. Fakat dolaplarda soğuk su göremedim. Tam o sırada bölge müdürü denetim yapıyormuş. Çalışanlardan birine soğuk suyunuz yok mu diye sordum. O da olmadığını söyledi. Ben de susuzluğun verdiği tepkiyle şu cümleyi sarf ettim. Nasıl olur da bu sıcak havalarda dolaba su koymazsınız? O sırada denetime yapan yönetici çalışana dönerek müşteri doğru söylüyor. Bu tip durumlara dikkat edin. Hemen dolaba su koyun dedi. Aslında bu durumdan ben çok üzüldüm. Bir çalışanın küçük duruma düşürülmesini izlemek beni son derece rahatsız etti. Çünkü çalışanlar, şirketleri ve işletmeleri başarıya götüren en büyük silahlardır. Çalışanlarınıza ne kadar çok değer verip, korursanız onlar da şirketin vizyonunu ve misyonunu korur.

Elinden gelenin en iyisini, önündeki engelleri ortadan kaldırarak yapan bir liderin, başarılı olmaması için hiç bir neden yoktur.
