Summary.

Hi friends, this collection of images is about some random moments that I captured during one of my usual roleplays, which I carried out in the mythical GTA III, in its classic version. As you can see below in the following set of images, the city of Liberty City looks very different from how it usually looks in the vanilla version of GTA 3, and that's because for this roleplay I've been using the total conversion mod known as Frosted Winter, which is a mod that immerses the city of liberty in an intense winter, and also adds a totally new story, among many other things like new maps, new cars, skins, etc.

Hola amigos y amigas, la presente colección de imágenes se trata de algunos momentos random que he capturado durante uno de mis tan acostumbrados roleplays, el cual he llevado a cabo en el mítico Gta III, en su versión clásica. Cómo podrán observar a continuación en el siguiente set de imágenes, la ciudad de Liberty City se ve muy diferente a como se suele presentar en la versión vainilla de Gta 3, y es que para este roleplay he estado usando el mod de conversión total conocido como Frosted Winter, el cual es un mod que sumerge a la ciudad de la libertad en un intenso invierno, y además agrega una historia totalmente nueva, entre muchas otras cosas como nuevos mapeados, nuevos autos, skins, etc.

Using a Skin selection mod, I was able to carry out this roleplay using the Skin of the FBI agent from GTA 3, although somewhat modified in its textures by the moder Dk2Pac (Brazilian modder). It's really fun to go through the snow-filled streets of Liberty City that Frosted Winter offers us aboard the FBI cruiser and simulate patrolling the streets of this city plagued by gangsters and dangers.

Utilizando un mod de selección de Skins, pude llevar a cabo este roleplay usando el Skin del agente del FBI de Gta 3, aunque algo modificado en sus texturas por el moder Dk2Pac (modder Brasileño). Realmente es muy divertido ir por las calles llenas de nieve en Liberty City que nos ofrece Frosted Winter a bordo del FBI cruiser y simular andar patrullando las calles de esta ciudad plagada de pandilleros y peligros.

We start the patrol round as an FBI agent from the Staunton Island port, yes, the one near Asuka's Condo, the Yakuza boss in GTA III. This area is home to many cargo containers, something that an FBI agent would obviously want to investigate, and even more so considering the proximity to the Yakuza boss's Condo.

La ronda de patrullaje como un agente del FBI la iniciamos desde el puerto de Staunton Island, sí, ese cercano al Condo de Asuka, la jefe de la Yakuza en GTA III. En esta zona se hallan muchos containers de carga, algo que obviamente un agente del FBI querría investigar, y más aún teniendo en cuenta la cercanía con el Condo de la jefa de la Yakuza.

Note: As you can see, the interior of the car, which is an FBI Cruiser, is quite detailed, as I am using a mod of the original FBI Cruiser from GTA 3 in its HD version, a mod that gives us the ability to drive an FBI Cruiser with a high level of detail.

Nota: Como podrás observar, el interior del auto, el cual es un FBI Cruiser, está bastante detallado, pues estoy utilizando un mod del FBI Cruiser original del GTA 3 en su versión HD, mod que nos brinda la posibilidad de conducir un FBI Cruiser con gran nivel de detalle.

Behold the winter landscape that the Frosted Winter Mod gives us. Without a doubt, the change that this mod gives to the atmosphere of Liberty City is remarkable, and it even feels realistic if we take into account the fact that Liberty City is a fictional city based on New York, a city that often experiences heavy snowfall at certain times of the year.

Contemplad ese paisaje invernal que nos brinda el Mod Frosted Winter. Sin duda alguna, el cambio que este mod da a la atmósfera de Liberty City es notable, e incluso se siente hasta realista si tomamos en cuenta el hecho de que Liberty City es una ciudad ficticia basada en New York, ciudad en la que suelen haber fuertes nevadas en algunas épocas del año.

Did you know that there was a University called St. Matthias in Liberty City? Well, now you know ;)

¿Sabías que en Liberty City existía una Universidad llamada St. Matthias? Pues ahora lo sabes ;)

The surroundings of St. Matthias University are often a red zone due to the high presence of members of the Colombian Cartel, who almost immediately shoot at us. For example, in the image above we can see how a Liberty City Police Department (LCPD) officer had been shot down by a member of the Cartel.

Los alrededores de la Universidad St.Matthias suelen ser zona roja debido a la alta presencia de miembros del Cartel colombiano, los cuales casi de inmediato disparan en nuestra contra. Por ejemplo en la imagen de arriba podemos ver como un oficial de la LCPD (Liberty City Police Department) había sido abatido por un miembro del Cartel.

Here I am, taking down the Cartel member who shot and killed the police officer in the vicinity of St. Matthias University.

Aquí me encuentro dando de baja al miembro del Cartel que abatió al oficial de policía en los alrededores de la Universidad St. Matthias.

Lucky me that he was alone and without any support from other Cartel members...

Tuve mucha suerte que este miebro del cartel se encontrase solo y no recibiese ayuda de sus secuaces.

Playing GTA III in first person provides a refreshing experience, and at times it can feel like an entirely new game. On the other hand, it is worth noting how heavily armed the members of the Colombian Cartel are. Each member carries at least a submachine gun or an AK-47.

Jugar en primera persona al Gta III nos brinda una sensación renovada, y a veces se siente como un juego totalmente nuevo. Por otro lado, fijate lo bien armado que van los miembros del Cartel colombiano. Todos llevan minimo una sub-ametralladora o una Ak-47.

Here I am patrolling the outskirts of Belleville Park in Staunton Island, which is also where you can find all sorts of collectibles in this Frosted Winter mod.

Aquí me encuentro patrullando los alrededores del parque Belleville en Staunton Island, lugar donde, por cierto, se suelen encontrar todo tipo de coleccionables en este mod de Frosted Winter.

Interesting fact: Did you know that the FBI Cruiser car is based on a Kuruma model, which is the 4-door sedan where we usually start our adventure in GTA III? But this one has a higher speed than the Kuruma Stock.

Dato interesante: Sabias que el auto FBI Cruiser se encuentra basado en un modelo Kuruma, el cual es el Sedan de 4 puertas en donde solemos empezar nuestra aventura en GTA III? Pero éste tiene mayor velocidad que el Kuruma Stock.

Located within Belleville Park is a public restroom area that, upon entering, changes our camera perspective, providing a sense of horror similar to that of a game like Resident Evil. Additionally, the area is quite gloomy.

En el parque Belleville se encuentra una zona de baños públicos que al entrar nos cambian la perspectiva de cámara, brindándonos una sensación como de juego de terror, es decir, algo así como Resident Evil, además de que el sitio es bastante lúgubre.

However, one of the many collectibles in the game was located within these gloomy public restrooms. These collectibles often provide a significant financial boost within the game. One thing that adds difficulty to this Frosted Winter Mod is that the prices of things are much higher than in GTA III. For example, repainting your car now costs something like $1000 :O

Pero en estos lúgubres baños públicos se encontraba uno de los tantos coleccionables del juego, los cuales suelen dar un aporte económico importante dentro del juego, ya que algo que agrega dificultad a este Mod de Frosted Winter, es que a diferencia de Gta III, los precios de las cosas son mucho más elevados, haciendo por ejemplo de un consumo sencillo como repintar tu coche algo que cueste 1000$ :O

Do you see the large brown building in the back? While walking through the great Liberty City, I realized how much that building resembles the Continental Hotel that appears in the famous John Wick series.

¿Ves el gran edificio marrón de detrás? Paseando por la gran Liberty City me di cuenta de lo mucho que se parece dicho edificio al Hotel Continental que aparece en la conocida saga de John Wick.

Located in the heart of Staunton Island is an area called Bedford Point, which bears a striking resemblance to the famous Fifth Avenue in New York City. Can you see the similarity?

En pleno centro de Staunton Island nos encontramos con una zona llamada Bedford Point, la cual tiene un gran parecido con la muy famosa Quinta Avenida de New York. ¿Puedes ver el parecido?

While the members of the Yardies were fighting against the Cartel gangsters, I had to fight two pedestrians hand-to-hand and using martial arts. They had become violent towards me because I had fired a series of shots at the Cartel members, which I found quite strange to be honest...

Mientras los miembros de los Yardies estaban luchando contra los gánsteres del Cartel, yo tuve que enfrentarme a puño limpio y usando artes marciales contra dos peatones que se volvieron violentos hacia mí debido a que efectué una serie de disparos contra los del Cartel, algo que me pareció bastante extraño la verdad...

Here I was, assisting and taking down a suspect who was attacking an elderly woman in Staunton Island. Fortunately, the Colt pistol in this installment of the GTA saga is usually very powerful and has a great range.

Aquí me encontraba asistiendo y abatiendo a un sospechoso que estaba atacando a una anciana en Staunton Island. Por suerte, the Colt pistol in this installment of the GTA saga is usually very powerful and has a great range.

During a story mode mission, I had to go to the Staunton Island tunnels to collect some explosives. The best way to do this is to go down to the subway station and walk through the tunnels until you reach the desired point. Additionally, in this installment we can also see the well-known clothing brand from the 3D universe: ZIP.

Durante una misión del modo historia tuve que ir a los túneles de Staunto Island a recoger unos explosivos, y la mejor manera es bajando a la estación del metro y caminar por los túneles hasta llegar a dicho punto. Por otra parte, en esta entrega también podemos ver la conocida marca de ropa del universo 3D: ZIP.

It turns out that in this story mode mission, we must collect the explosives in order to blow up a factory that belongs to the Triads. The factory is also guarded by members of the Cartel. That's why I decided to fight my way in from the outside using fragmentation grenades.

Resulta que en dicha misión del modo historia debemos de recoger los explosivos para luego hacer saltar por los cielos a una fabrica procesadora que pertenece a la Triada y que se encuentra custodiada también por miembros del Cartel. Por ello decidí abrirme paso desde afuera con el uso de las granadas fragmentarias.

Once inside the processing plant, I started using my favorite weapon in the game, the pump shotgun ;)

Una vez dentro de la fabrica procesadora, comencé a usar mi arma favorita del juego, es decir la escopeta ;)

During the shooting inside the factory, I was alternating between first person and third person mode.

Durante el tiroteo dentro de la fabrica, fuí alternando entre el modo primera persona y tercera persona.

The factory was heavily guarded by gangsters from the Chinese Triad and the Colombian Cartel.

La fábrica se encontraba fuertemente custodiada por gánsteres de la Tríada china y el Cartel colombiano.

And ¡KABOOM! After taking down the gangsters guarding the factory, I managed to place the explosives in it and blow it sky high.

Y ¡KABOOM! Después de abatir a los gánsteres que cuidaban la fábrica, logré colocar los explosivos en la misma y hacerla volar por los aires.

This is how the triad fortress was left after the strong explosion.

Así quedó dicha fortaleza de la triada luego de la fuerte explosión.

This image of a basketball court completely covered in snow in Portland (the first island in the game) perfectly captures the immersive nature of the Frosted Winter mod.

Esta imagen de una cancha de baloncesto totalmente cubierta bajo la nieve en Portland (Primera isla del juego) me pareció que captura la naturaleza tan inmersiva del mod Frosted Winter.

One of the new maps that this mod adds that I like the most is the new Ammunation in Portland, which now has its own shooting range, something that was missing in this installment of the 3D universe.

Una de los nuevos mapeados que añade este mod que más me gustan es el del nuevo Ammunation en Portland, el cual ahora cuenta con su propio campo de tiro al blanco, lo cual se echaba de menos en esta entrega del universo 3D.

And finally, to end my first shift as an FBI agent, I decided to practice my aim a little at the new shooting range at Ammunation in Portland. This new shooting range can really be enjoyed more using the first-person mod, which I will be leaving the name of in the next section of the post.

Y Finalmente para terminar este primer turno como agente del FBI, decidí practicar un poco la puntería en el nuevo campo de tiro del Ammunation de Portland. Realmente este nuevo campo de tiro se puede disfrutar más utilizando el mod de primera persona el cual estaré dejando su nombre en la siguiente sección del post.
