A Time Out with Nature...
I screamed, “Eileen! Look, it’s the famous Old Faithful and an eruption is taking place”
Eileen responds, "how perfect could our timing be?" And we laughed as we proceeded to see the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

…Permit me to backtrack a bit.
In 2014, I was a foreign exchange student on scholarship to the United States of America. It was one of the best times of my life. I was posted to Wyoming to school for one year (a story for another day).
I can't complain 😊
Amongst the diverse adventures, I embarked on within this period, one of the memorable ones was a trip with a couple of friends to Yellowstone National Park in October 2014.
The whole crew on a mission to enjoy nature 😍...
We were intentional about our trip, so we planned ahead. We arrived as early as possible. We chose less-known, hidden, and secret sights, and hiked to higher views in order to view the landmarks from an elevated point.
Somewhere around the Hayden Valley...
We embarked on both foot and bus tours.
We drove through the Grand Loop while on our bus tour and viewed many classic gems like Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, Fountain Pots, and viewing wildlife. We took brief stops by canyons, hot springs, falls, and lakes to soak in the moment up, close and personal.
An angle of Old Faithful...
As we drove by, I let out a scream to my friend, Eileen about the Old Faithful which was one of the major landmarks we looked forward to viewing.
Decided to stop and pose for a quick photo 😂
Furthermore, we got to a point and decided to hike a bit to view other parts of the park from an elevated point. It was a glorious feeling.
More photos around the Hayden Valley...
The major highlight in this trip for me was:
- Seeing the colorful Grand Prismatic Spring,
- Old Faithful Geyser and experiencing an eruption take place,
- Lamar Valley,
- Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone,
- Hiking Uncle Tom’s Trail with more than 300 steps,
- Seeing wildlife in the Hayden Valley,
- Mammoth Hot Springs,
Yellowstone Lake...
- Visiting the Old Faithful Inn and admiring its ancient architecture,
- Making a quick stop at the Yellowstone Lake
Turns out, I could model as a side hustle 😅😂
Priceless moments around this beauty 💛...
- Taking a bus tour through the scenic Yellowstone Grand Loop Road
Stopped briefly for a quick appreciation of nature's beauty...
Saw a Bison minding his business 😉...
Navigating through the scenic Yellowstone Grand Loop Road...
Hot Lake Bed Memo...
I just had to take this shot!
Another Bison minding its business for a living 😌😂
Visiting Yellowstone National park in October was a strategic and great decision as the warmer temperatures began to cool and we were able to experience the hot springs, geysers, and other natural landmarks without dealing with a bunch of other visitors or push through a crowd.
So clean and refreshing to view...
I hope to visit again, maybe in the summertime between June and August, to compare the feel and experience from the one I had in October.
What a beauty to behold!
Thank you @galenkp for this lovely opportunity to share another timeless moment of my life.
I invite @josediccus @young-boss-karin @merit.ahama @khaleesii @cochanet @naradamoon @iskafan @ebingo @jaydr to take part in this beautiful topic by @galenkp.
Till I come your way again…
Happy Sunday and Bye for now!
P.S: My photo quality is not as great as I would like because they were taken in 2014 with a not-so-high-quality phone camera but the memories are timeless.
What a very beautiful scenery. It’s a good thing you captured this experience because someone like me would forget to take pictures
Thank you my dear @readthisplease.
Thinking about it in retrospect, I was caught up in the moment and indeed missed taking a lot of shot of the landmarks we visited. I just had to be present.
Someone definitely didn't change from 2014 till now, and if you told me that picture was from 2014, I wouldn't believe, maybe it has to do with the display of my device because I'm viewing it from a Samsung phone. That aside, lovely adventure, lovely people, I'd say you have a thing for pink or maybe it's just me. I hadn't had a lot of times I relished in my past, but goodness me! This must have felt really exciting at the time for you.
Off comment, you've been dashing right from the onset hahah.

Thank you so much @josediccus and @tipu
😅 My face is the same yesterday, today, forever 😂😅 I was going through my archives and realized my face didn't change much indeed.
The funny thing is I don't even like pink but I don't entirely hate it either, I just have a few really cute pink pieces in my wardrobe. My fav colour is burgundy (some know it as oxblood).
We need to change this moving forward ohhhh. What part of Nigeria are you based in?
See me giggling like a child 😄😃. Thank you @josediccus
Chineeeeke 😅😅😅, with a touch of rabbit's kidney 😅😅😅😅.
That would be Lagos, spent about 23 years of my life hear occasionally travelling with many detours as well. What do you propose? I like waka waka o.
You're welcome,
Hahahahhahha, he legit said Chineeeekeee, I take you are Igbo. I am Ikwere of Rivers State. Our languages are similar.
I recently relocated from Lagos to PortHarcourt after quitting my job in Oil and Gas... I should visit Lagos soon... Add me up on telegram @pea_q and we will take it up from there.
P.S: I'm not much of a waka waka but I like to escape sometimes from being a workaholic😅
Rivers, I was probably thinking Akwa Ibom, maybe the one without the accent. 😅😅😅. oh wow.
Loool Im legit Igbo of course, Imo state to be precise, I use to think it was evident in my accent and the unique look of my face 😅😅😅.
Adventurous from someone who doesn't like waka waka, but I guess we often move im fruitful directions, its often in the nature. I'll make sure to come through on telegram.
Hahahaha.
I refrain from stereotyping people based on looks. I always give the benefit of doubt.
We will find out how adventurous we both are😄
Looool I can't laugh enough, sometimes we subconsciously get stereotypical. Loool, its all good.
Exactly, we will find out. 😁😁😁
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Always a pleasure 😊
I can't imagine how beautiful this experience would have been.
It was indeed beautiful.
We should travel on one soon 😉
That would be amazing, hopefully soon.
😉
