Ekpo masquerade day: mbierebe day!
Greetings to lovely friends in this platform. It's been a while have not posted here. Today I am here again. Merry Christmas In advance.
Today is our day: MBIEREBE day in my village for ekpo masquerade
In our culture, we have different days for each ethnic groups to show their masquerade performance.
I am going to mention but few.
We have
- Annang day.
- Mbiokporo day
- Etinan day
- Mbierebe day
And so, today is our day? Mbierebe day.
It's a day set aside for masquerade people to celebrate their day before 25 of December.
It's been a while have seen masquerade in queue with different mask on their faces.
People in the village keeping aside their business to inspect them dancing.
It is our culture that this must be done before the exact day of Christmas.
People travel afar to see this occasion. Oh people they love the things of the world than God's things.
Trillions of people gathering to see ekpo masquerade.
Culture, culture, culture
Culture has it own spirit and power attached to it.
It was so shocked, that one of the ekpo slumb as the were moving in queue. One of them who was not wearing mask splash an egg on the ground and they threw fowl on the air for the ekpo to come alive. It took time before this ekpo came back to live. Incarnation was condone there.
Moreover, in our culture this is one of the things we expect to see in festive season like this.
ekpo amuikpa
This ekpo amuikpa is meantly for young persons.
We call this other ones. ata ekpo. Is meantly for mature people.
Thank you friends for reading my blog. God bless you.
This Culture of yours is an interesting and typical African style. Heheh
The masquerades would have been made to look less scary since it's actually intended to fully entertain 😂. But no wahala
Hope you enjoyed the festival.
Happy Christmas in advance
