I have had a quiet Saturday, despite the fact that in several locations in #Venezuela the electricity failed today, again, I have been lucky that I have had electricity supply most of the day. That is almost a blessing. I was a little discouraged, but I decided to publish at least the record of the day, today there are several interesting things, such as what I saw from a friend on the net that it is the Day of the Psychiatrist, another who warned that it was the International Day of the Beaches, which by the way, in #Venezuela we have very beautiful beaches, it would be a good thing if the infrastructure of tourist services were created to be able to take advantage of them. But, finally, I decided on an anniversary of the death of the philosopher of science Karl Popper, today in 1994, because my classes at the University were on Research Methodology and I always remembered him.
Popper's contribution was striking to me, in that the definition of #science that we handle in class was that it was a 'temporarily valid' knowledge, which was always subject to verification and the certain possibility that it could be found that it was false in the current reality, that is, that his knowledge was falsifiable, because a better explanation of the phenomena was achieved or because reality was constantly changing and what was valid before, is not necessarily valid in the future.
Certainly, I was passionate about explaining these things, despite the fact that I think many of my students were deadly bored (laughs). Well, I guess it's a matter of taste and there is something for everyone. I already hear it raining, I have to finish, so I can post and not be left without electricity, anyway, that's how I almost closed day 918 of this long and rare #quarantine due to the #COVID-19 #pandemic. He tenido un sábado tranquilo, a pesar de que en varias localidades de #Venezuela la electricidad falló hoy, de nuevo, he tenido la suerte de que yo he tenido suministro eléctrico la mayor parte del día. Eso es casi una bendición. Tenía un poco de desánimo, pero me decidí a publicar cuando menos el registro del día, hoy hay varias cosas interesantes, tales como que vi por un amigo en la red que es el Día del Psiquiatra, otro que avisaba que era el Día Internacional de las Playas, que por cierto, en #Venezuela tenemos playas muy hermosas, sería algo bueno si se creara la infraestructura de servicios turísticos para poder aprovecharlas. Pero, finalmente, me decidí por una efeméride de la muerte del filósofo de la ciencia Karl Popper, un día como hoy en 1994, debido a que mis clases en la Universidad eran de Metodología de la Investigación y siempre le recordaba.
El aporte de Popper, me resultaba llamativo, en cuanto a que la definición de #ciencia que manejamos en clase era que se trataba de un conocimiento 'temporalmente válido', que siempre estaba sujeto a verificación y a la posibilidad cierta de que se pudiera encontrar que resultaba falso en la realidad actual, es decir, que su conocimiento era falsable, debido a que se conseguía elaborar una mejor explicación de los fenómenos o debido a que la realidad cambiaba constantemente y lo que era válido antes, no necesariamente lo es en el futuro.
Ciertamente que me apasionaba explicar estas cosas, a pesar de que creo que a muchos de mis alumnos les daba un aburrimiento letal (risas) en fin, supongo que es cosa de gustos y de eso hay para todas las personas. Ya escucho llover, debo terminar para poder publicar y que no me dejen sin electricidad, en fin, así casi cierro el día 918 de esta larga y rara #Cuarentena por la #pandemia de #Covid19. Te deseo que estés bien y que nos podamos leer en otra oportunidad.
