Thursday, shopping day at a fair near home, I already went and came back, so it's my turn to do the record of the day, we've already had several interruptions in the power supply, so it's better that I keep posting, that in case leave me without power while I'm at this, I can at least post a part if the UPS battery allows me to do something before I have to shut down the computer. I have heard on the radio news that this period of rain has aggravated the problems due to lack of maintenance, the drains were not cleaned, the sewers were not well attended and the laying of electricity cables and landline telephones they are turned off if they get too wet, in short, this is how we are in #Venezuela, with some other news that in some future they will attend to that and that some companies that were nationalized by the government may be put back for private capital, since the public administration of the government has shown itself to be fatally bad to work with.
Reviewing the things of #History for this day, which is 930 of the #quarantine by #COVID-19 on this side of the world, I found that the birth of the most recognized author of Spanish literature is celebrated, the one who still in our days he harvests international fame for his works, among which the adventures of an older man with chivalric delusions and a thirst for adventure stand out:
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, it is believed that this writer was born on September 29 (1547) in Alcalá de Henares, very close to Madrid. And I have to clarify that there is no certainty about the date and that it is more of an assignment than something for which there is firm evidence, because in his life there are many things that remained a mystery and more than one has doubts that it would happen in those unknown episodes of this novelist, playwright and writer who bequeathed us a masterpiece that has survived the passing of the centuries, such as "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha", a #novel in three volumes that has seen translations, illustrated adaptations, movies, television series, animations, video games, puppets, toys and diverse merchandise. Seriously, he has given so much that he did not believe that Cervantes would expect, when writing the first #book of these adventures, that his success would go so far.
Something I should point out is that although the work is read today, its language needs 'translation', even if it is to read in the current #Spanish language, see that reading a work that began to be published in 1605 in the Spanish of its time, if we try to read it as it is in the original versions, we will be surprised by not being able to understand many parts, in fact, I doubt that we can enjoy the story well like this. Hence, its adaptation in illustrated novels, cartoons (comics and manga), its versions for children and other similar things has enjoyed great acceptance over the centuries, something that has been much more evident in recent decades.
That Spanish of more than 400 years ago is quite difficult to fully understand in our 21st century is something I can personally attest to, on one occasion I had to do a job at the National Historical Archive, but with records from about 200 or 250 years, and there were times when between the calligraphy, the abbreviations, the turns of syntax that are not used today... well, all that added up, it really gave me serious problems to complete the work, Luckily they helped me and the work was able to come to a successful conclusion.
I have to finish the publication, I'm lucky, and the electricity has allowed me to work, that's something to celebrate. I wish you well and that we can read each other again another time.

Jueves, día de compras en una feria cercana a casa, ya fui y regresé, así que me toca hacer el registro del día, ya hemos tenido varias interrupciones en el suministro eléctrico, así que es mejor que vaya publicando, que en caso de que me dejen sin energía mientras estoy en esto, por lo menos puedo publicar una parte si la batería del UPS me permite hacer algo antes de tener que apagar la computadora. He oído en las noticias de la radio, que este periodo de lluvia ha agravado los problemas debidos a la falta de mantenimiento, los drenajes estaban sin limpieza, las alcantarillas no fueron bien atendidas y los tendidos de cables de electricidad y de teléfonos de línea fija están que se apagan si se mojan mucho, en fin, así estamos en #Venezuela, con alguna que otra noticia de que en algún futuro van a atender eso y que puede que algunas compañías de las que fueron nacionalizadas por el gobierno sean de nuevo puestas para el capital privado, pues la administración pública del gobierno ha mostrado ser fatalmente mala para trabajar.

Y tengo que aclarar que no hay certeza de la fecha y que resulta más una asignación que una cosa de la que se tenga evidencia firme, pues en su vida hay muchas cosas que quedaron en el misterio y más de uno tiene dudas de que pasaría en esos episodios desconocidos de este novelista, dramaturgo y escritor que nos legó una obra maestra que ha sobrevivido al paso de los siglos, tal como lo es "El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha", una novela en tres volúmenes que ha visto traducciones, adaptaciones ilustradas, películas, series de televisión, animaciones, videojuegos, títeres, juguetes y mercadería diversa. En serio que ha dado para tanto que no creó que Cervantes esperará, al escribir el primer #libro de estas aventuras, que su éxito llegara tan lejos.
Algo que debo señalar es que si bien la obra se lee en la actualidad, su idioma necesita 'traducción', incluso si se trata de leer en el idioma español actual, mira que leer una obra que comenzó a publicarse en 1605 en el español de su época, si lo tratamos de leer tal cual está en las versiones originales, nos vamos a sorprender al no lograr entender muchas partes, de hecho, dudo que podamos disfrutar bien la historia así. De allí que su adaptación en novelas ilustradas, en caricaturas (comics y manga), sus versiones para niños y otras cosas similares ha gozado de gran aceptación a lo largo de los siglos, cosa que ha sido mucho más evidente con las últimas décadas.
Eso de que el español de hace más de 400 años es bastante difícil de comprender plenamente en nuestro siglo 21 es algo de lo que puedo dar fe personalmente, en una oportunidad me tocó hacer un trabajo en el Archivo Histórico Nacional, pero con registros de hace unos 200 o 250 años, y había momentos en que entre la caligrafía, las abreviaturas, los giros de sintaxis que hoy en día no se usan... bien, todo eso sumado, de verdad que me dio serios problemas para completar el trabajo, por suerte me ayudaron y pudo llegar el trabajo a feliz término.
Ya debo terminar la publicación, estoy con suerte y la electricidad me ha permitido trabajar, eso es algo para celebrar. Te deseo que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
