In general, my #life is usually very quiet, apart from the fact that it's Sunday and I didn't leave the house, so there isn't really much to tell, apart from the fact that I wish the temperature would rise a bit, at least to around 24 C°, because I really find it very strange to have cold temperatures at this time of year in this part of Venezuela.

Anyway, I think my publication is going to be a bit short, so I will go directly to comment on the ephemeris of the #History that I had reviewed for today. It turns out that on a day like today, in 1829, he was born in Buttenheim (Kingdom of Bavaria, a member of the German Confederation at that time), a very notable merchant for his flagship product, it is Levi Strauss, born as Löb Strauß, but later After immigrating to the United States with his family (1847), when he was 18 years old, he adjusted his name to the closest Anglo-Saxon translation.

Ya es casi medianoche, debido a varias cosas diversas no había publicado mi registro del día, pero me encargaré de esto ya mismo. En general, mi #vida suele ser muy tranquila, además de que es domingo y no salí de casa, así que no hay realmente mucho que contar, más allá de que desearía que la temperatura subiera un poco, por lo menos a unos 24 grados C, porque de verdad que encuentro muy raro tener temperaturas frías en esta época del año en esta parte de #Venezuela.

En fin, creo que mi publicación va a quedar un poco breve, por lo que pasaré directamente a comentar la efemérides de la #Historia que había revisado para hoy. Resulta que un día como hoy, en 1829, nació en Buttenheim (Reino de Baviera, integrante de la Confederación Alemana por ese entonces), un comerciante muy notable por su producto estrella, se trata de Levi Strauss, nacido como Löb Strauß, pero luego de emigrar a Estados Unidos con su familia (1847), teniendo él 18 años, ajustó su nombre a la traducción anglosajona más cercana.

Living in the United States, #LeviStrauss worked with his brothers Jonas and Louis, who were dry goods wholesalers in New York City, but it was in 1854 that the young Strauss traveled to the American West Coast, to San Francisco (which was in boom due to the gold rush), to establish a branch of the family trade, where he came into contact with Jacob W. Davis, one of his clients, who had bought fabrics from Strauss stores, but had made some #trousers at the request of a wife of a worker, keeping in mind that they were very resistant.

In fact, he chose a fabric used for tents, sewed parallel seams to join the pants sections, and finished the seams with copper alloy rivets, thereby strengthening all the joints. Davis began producing these garments in 1871, and his fame passed from mouth-to-mouth, but he did not have the money to make mass production, Strauss saw the business opportunity and offered him a partnership, so they worked together and patented the #BlueJeans in 1873.

Viviendo en Estados Unidos, #LeviStrauss trabajó con sus hermanos Jonas y Louis, que eran mayoristas de productos secos en la ciudad de Nueva York, pero fue en 1854 cuando el joven Strauss viajó a la costa oeste norteamericana, a San Francisco (que estaba en auge por la fiebre del oro), para establecer una rama del comercio familiar, en donde entró en contacto con Jacob W. De hecho, escogió una tela que se usaba par tiendas de campaña, realizó costuras en paralelo para unir las secciones de los pantalones y terminó las costuras con remaches de una aleación de cobre, con lo que fortaleció todas las uniones. Davis comenzó a producir estas prendas de ropa en 1871, y su fama pasó de boca en boca, pero no tenía dinero para hacer una producción masiva, Strauss vio la oportunidad de negocio y le ofreció una asociación, así trabajaron juntos y patentaron el #BlueJeans en 1873.

The #Jeans pants were a success, they were very resistant, durable and practical. In fact, the emblem of the two horses pulling a pair of jeans in opposite directions (which appears on the label) was part of one of the demonstrations they did so that their buyers could see how strong their product was.

150 years have passed, this garment has gone from being #workwear to being part of the wardrobe of various designers, movie icons, rebels, young people and the irreverent. Today it is a garment that in many countries is part of everyday life. Not bad for a product originally created for working men in the 19th century American West.

Los pantalones #Jeans fueron un éxito, eran muy resistentes, duraderos y prácticos. De hecho, el emblema de los dos caballos halando en sentidos contrarios un pantalón Jeans (que aparece en la etiqueta) era parte de una de las demostraciones que hacían para que sus compradores pudieran ver lo fuerte que era su producto.

Han pasado ya 150 años, esta prenda de vestir ha pasado de ser #ropa de trabajo a ser parte del guardarropa de diversos diseñadores, íconos de cine, rebeldes, jóvenes y de los irreverentes. Hoy en día es una prenda de vestir que en muchos países es parte de la cotidianidad. Nada mal para un producto creado originalmente para los hombres trabajadores en el oeste norteamericano del siglo XIX.
