World Candy Day + Día Mundial del Caramelo [Eng+Spa]
We are on a Saturday night that was a bit hectic where I live, my brother suffered from a severe headache, there were people with very suspicious behavior hanging around the street, the dogs were barking like crazy at various times (in some cases not You could see the reason for the barking), anyway, it was a busier day than I usually have in my calm #life.
Well, I have taken a long time on other things, and I now have less than 20 minutes left until this Saturday (November 4) becomes Sunday. So, I better move on to comment on the anniversary of #history that corresponded to today. It is a celebration referring to #food, again (I am certainly reiterating my publications on this topic), it is a celebration for a #sweet product that has its roots in the European history of the times after the crusades, after the European reconquest of the territories dominated by Muslim forces that invaded Europe and managed to conquer many kingdoms. Today is 'World Candy Day'.

Estamos en la noche de un sábado que fue un poco agitado por donde vivo, mi hermano sufrió de un fuerte dolor de cabeza, hubo gente de comportamiento muy sospechoso rondando la calle, los perros estuvieron ladrando como locos en varios momentos (en algunos casos no se veía la razón de los ladridos), en fin, que fue un día más movido de lo que usualmente tengo en mi calmada #vida.

Así que mejor paso a comentar sobre la efeméride de la #historia que se correspondía con el día de hoy. Es una celebración referida a #comida, nuevamente (estoy ciertamente reiterando mis publicaciones sobre este tema), es una celebración para un producto #dulce que hunde sus raíces en la historia europea de los tiempos posteriores a las cruzadas, posterior a la reconquista europea de los territorios dominados por las fuerzas musulmanas que invadieron Europa y que lograron conquistar muchos reinos. Hoy es el ‘Día Mundial del Caramelo’.

No logré hallar una explicación clara del porqué se escogió esta fecha para celebrar a los #caramelos, pero supongo que no está claro para mucha gente, en fin, lo que sí encontré fue un poco del origen de los caramelos actuales en occidente, por lo que me lleva nuevamente a los comentarios sobre la relación entre el mundo árabe y el europeo durante la edad media, período en que los viajes de las delegaciones militares de uno y otro bando llevaron a que las rutas comerciales se expandieran y los productos de diversos sitios fueran trasportados a nuevos mercados.

Siguiendo el tema, con la comercialización del azúcar, en todas sus presentaciones, se dio inicio también a una creación que fueron los caramelos. Supongo que el #caramelo más tradicional fue simplemente un intento de conservar los alimentos con una capa aislante de azúcar, pero se volvía adictiva por la explosión de sabor que tenía, además, en serio que los dulces parecen causar una especie de dependencia en cuanto a su consumo.
Yo tenía un viejo profesor que decía que el azúcar es como un alcohol en polvo, así que no era raro volverse adicto de alguna manera, en fin, que no sé si esa idea sea cierta, pero admito que las personas muy adeptas a los dulces se les puede volver muy miserable la vida si deben renunciar a los dulces.
