Hello, today I had a calm day. It's Saturday, we haven't done anything important at home, although we have pending repair work for tomorrow. We have the terms for this: Retro and Vintage. I'll go first with #Vintage, because it is not the center of the post and I want to say it briefly. Vintage is reserved for the trend in fashion, decoration and other fields of using elements created in past decades. Vintage is not that it inspires in the past to reconstruct it, it is that they are truly pieces made in another era, and that they are being used in a current moment.
When we talk about #Retro, we refer to a trend of decoration, game creation, architecture, design, fashion, and much more; which has the particularity that it is inspired by elements of the past to create new things, but that contain the identifying elements of objects from the past. An example I saw was a computer keyboard, which was mechanical and imitated an old typewriter, but retained the rectangular shape of the keyboard, had wireless technology, was multi-device, and could even be used to write messages on a Smartphone.

Vintage se reserva para la tendencia de moda, decoración y otros campos de usar elementos creados en décadas pasadas, lo Vintage no es que inspire en el pasado para reconstruirlo, es que de verdad son piezas hechas en otra época, y que se está usando en un momento actual.

El teclado retro luce genial. Y una película tiene que ser buena si aparece un Gundam, es lo normal.
Si alguien se atreve a hacer una película mala con un Gundam, se puede meter en problemas graves.
Esa saga de Mechas tiene fanáticos muy serios. Incluso han creado réplicas a tamaño real de este Gundam en Japón. Se toman muy en serio su serie favorita de Anime. Si les causaran alguna humillación a su símbolo... bueno, sería como lo que pasó con 'Dragon Ball Evolution', que creo que les amenazaron de muerte y los atacaron también.
I remember using typewriters for my school reports, using correction fluids to correct mistakes. Nowadays, I can't do without computers. 😀
