I am buying another diesel car, I guess I am killing the climate…

Hybrid, Electric, Hydrogen… way too expensive

For over a month now I have been looking for a new car. I focussed on full electric and hybrid cars. This because of the fact that the Belgian government is punishing diesel and gas car driver with higher taxes and all sorts of other measures. But now I have made the mathematics completely and it would be completely nuts to buy an electric or hybrid car. At least here in Belgium. They are at least 20 to 25k EUR more expensive than their diesel brothers. It is impossible to compensate that with less taxes over the course of 4 or 5 years. Which is the lifespan of a car for me in my profession.

So, call me climate fucker, which is highly unlikely with the recent Diesel engines, but I won’t care. I am not stupid, and I have a good feeling diesel prices will drop significantly in the future because of lower demand… So diesel it is! And yes, I like nature, but money doesn’t grow on my back either!

Sincerely,

I have an Audi A4 from 2004. Still rocking diesel. The manufacturing process of electric vehicles and batteries is probably more harmful than diesel cars.

You bet, for some reason our government hasn’t figured that out yet…

They don't even bother and they don't care. Governments right now are puppets of the world elites working on making us slaves and nothing more... I don't trust anymore any government in the world.

Oh and an example of "environment hypocrisy" is Norway. They live off of oil but they brag themselves to be such environmentalists with their electric cars.

Good points gentlemen. It will take much more time to be able to make things cleaner. I have a 2018 S4, love the way it looks and drives.

Audi are great cars and don't blame you. The truth is electric is not ready yet and the range needs to be sorted for batteries before it is feasible. 5 years time one should be looking to change and not before.
